And if I can go another 3 weeks without any alcohol, I can start to say that I am on a sobriety quest. The only things left for me to do around my life is to get this house cleaned, get the yard mowed, and to get a full time job.

I think it’s very sad that you’re 40 and in this condition. I’m glad you’re slowly improving though. You have so many physical and mental challenges to deal with. I wish you the very best.

Yeah, well, I was offered the opportunity to join the taxi company. One cab driver said that there were too many Asians driving cabs here. He wanted more Aussies to drive them. I figure I am making adequate money for my circumstances. And I would rather get that $900/week job over town when I am ready and able to apply.

I dropped about 5kg in a month, even when I was drinking quite regularly. I must have done something right.

Back in high school, when I was 13 years old, we had a group session about what job we would do after we graduated. I said that I would be driving taxis. Classmates laughed at me. The thing was, taxi drivers are paid pretty well, depending on their work rate. A former co-worker of mine took to taxi driving. He can do $1500/week on a 50 hour week (if it is a busy week).

But I still want that $900/week job working over at that place where people go to feel better... The pub.

Absolutely! Remember you’ve got that complicated sugar insulin named disease as well which makes things even more challenging!

Look for what it’s worth .... and as a caring mother I’m saying this to you because I have a son in his 20’s ok and in 2 blinks of an eye he’ll be 40 like you .... keep up the good work and only look forward. Chat to Aussie (he’s from QLD like you and may have an opening for you) via PM easier/clearer/safer ok?

Ask him a few questions regarding casual shifts and why not give it a go? Why not try a few shifts to see if it’s something you could do. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.

If he takes my offer he is able to retain his $900.00 a week job AND add to that driving a cab on whatever nights he is not working for the $900.00.

I have no Cabs in Rocky but there would be no problem at all hooking him up with Owners I know up there.
