Wait until the prosecutors get to expand on the charges. There he was, in the middle of a presidential campaign, pulling stories, and all for fees he wouldn't dare to disclose to the public, as is required under law. This is the American constitution we're talking about, they'll say. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in corrupt political payoffs. Not one, but several, each payment a serious campaign violation.
There's no easy way out of this. This is really happening, and he knows it. This time, they've got him.
