Former President Trump indicted by NY grand jury

Former President Donald Trump has been indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, marking the first time in US history that a current or former president will face criminal charges.

Trump will likely appear in court early next week, his defense attorney said. Charges are not publicly known at this time.

Trump added that he believes this will “backfire” on Democrat President Joe Biden, who he aims to defeat in next year’s general election.
