Watching that Journalist was like watching Mothra, Smith, Peccary, Philperth, Dnarever - all roled in one.  Grin

I'm a journalist, I can say anything, and if its wrong, I can use the excuse that it was investigative and in the public interest to say it. Rather like ABC vague allegations of corruption before the last Federal election.

On a points game you could say Elton won. But he won on diversion he couldn't answer any questions.

It wasn't that he was right or anything like that.

In fact he did a good job of defending a lost position.

A great job of not answering any questions.

Remember at the end of the day this is the same dill that bought Twitter for about $40 Billion more than it was worth and is running it into the ground.

There was no diversion against someone making accusations of evil while representing an Evil Media itself. The evilness showed in his behaviour and personal denials.
It was like watching Nazi Germany accusing Britain of Politics and Military.  Grin

I suspect anyone on that list would have had the facts to make Elton look as silly as he normally does. It's not like he was clever about not answering any questions.  The journalist should have just shut him down.

That Journalist didn't even get to first base. He struck out.  Grin

It does in a way that Musk represents the Internet that doesn't have to bend the knee to the Media - which is what the Media via that Journalist expected him to do.

The obvious fact is the journalist thought Musk would respond to vague allegations other journalists had made . . . because that is what he would do in Musk's position. And he hoped for some kind of scoop he could brag about. These bastards get to mold public opinion with innuendo, and they get away with it all the time.

An expectation that he would answer the questions that he had agreed to the interview to answer, how dare they.

One thing we're all going to have to accept - It is in human nature to be occasionally mean-spirited, machiavellian and overtly narcissistic, particularly under the cover of anonymity, in the same way it is universal that we all feel an instinctive sense of rage when we're cut off in traffic.

No one can prevent spiteful, aggressive, (yes even hateful) responses on social media any more than you can prevent dogs wanting to sh!t in a park or people farting in public.

Musk should not be held accountable for not preventing every instance of human nature's darker side (with the exception of illegal statements) and, let's face it, the BBC is OK with being machiavellian or lying by commission/omission when it suits them - another human instinct: deceiving in the interests of self.

That's true.
But the Media's need to use the Internet as evil, to virtual signal itself and try to make itself holier than though - seems to be falling short these days.

Shooting the messenger again because the messenger doesn't support the British Biscuit Company's corrupt agenda Sad
