I'd have to disagree with this Lisa.
It was actually very clever—as well as very funny and
original. After all, the bloke is a stand up comedian, so
any reasonable person would, or should, expect to hear
some cutting-edge jokes.
As to its historical accuracy, that's—for the purpose of
the joke—immaterial, as there's
in reality no evidence
that a man called "Jesus" even existed in real life.(But that's a debate for another thread of its own.)
Remember too that the entirety of the Christian bible
is merely fantasy fiction.
Would you be complaining if an acerbic
joke was made about, say, Beowulf for
example? Another fictional character?
