Small-minded Christians Upset by Jesus Joke...

When comedian, cabaret star and drag artist Reuben
Kaye made a joke on Channel 10's The Project in
February, he didn't anticipate the level of backlash he
was about to cop.

It was a simple pun, in his trademark boundary-
pushing style, about Jesus getting nailed to the cross,
but it led to an apology from hosts Waleed Aly and
Sarah Harris and 277 submissions to the Australian
Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Comedian Reuben Kaye Upsets Wowsers.

Kaye's joke?

“So, I think it’s hilarious when someone messages me
and says, ‘you have to accept Jesus’s love or you will
burn in hell’.

“Because I love Jesus. I love any man who can get
nailed for three days straight and come back for more.”

I'd have to disagree with this Lisa.

It was actually very clever—as well as very funny and
original. After all, the bloke is a stand up comedian, so
any reasonable person would, or should, expect to hear
some cutting-edge jokes.

As to its historical accuracy, that's—for the purpose of
the joke—immaterial, as there's in reality no evidence
that a man called "Jesus" even existed in real life.
(But that's a debate for another thread of its own.)

Remember too that the entirety of the Christian bible
is merely fantasy fiction.

Would you be complaining if an acerbic
joke was made about, say, Beowulf for
example? Another fictional character?

Yeah - that's what I was thinking.

Jesus was a real man. Only have to see what Hitler the Prophet did to the Jews, to know that the Jews did something akin against a Man called Jesus long ago.

To set the wheels of motion in regards to the Christian religion - there had to be an element of 'real' circumstance and person/people.

...just like Mohommed said "Kill my people (Christians)" to those who became Moslems in his name.
