Maoris like fish and chips -
sometimes they eat it almost every day so
they grow enormous with 100 pounds of fat on them.

There is an allegation made that the Maori people are naturally fat because they had a history of needing to store fat for the long boat rides over the ocean. Pacific Islanders have that kind of trait about being fat because of the long journeys they endured.

But, I think you are right about the fish and chips allegation. I recall that Pacific Islanders did not have an obesity epidemic until after the Americans left the Pacific after the second world war. Among the items left behind were the fattening tins of meat and other not so wholesome foods that the Islanders could not digest properly. Decades later, along come the fast food stores.

The fish is cooked in fatty batter and the chips are covered in fat. No wonder the Maoris are so fat - many are more than 100 pounds overweight.

If they are careless with their diet, they will eat rubbish. But even I could get sick of fast food after a couple of days, and have something really healthy for the next week.
