Considering Australian culture has been saturated with stupid American words. I'm not too pedantic on the spelling, even if my 'cerated' was a shocker Grin

Hell, look at our Newspapers: it's nearly all American Spelling starting with the obvious 'Jail', rather than use the Australian 'Gaol'.
Even the internet and this site uses the American spellcheck which is a pita.
Throw in the fact that Australia's love of shortening words was a precursor to Texting/SMS speech.

Alice is still standing..... battered but firm..... and thus far the good citizens haven't responded to lawlessness with frontier justice... no posses or street justice.... no lynchings....

Unlike those who have abandoned their responsibility to those kids, the citizens give a damn about them.... the only ones genociding them are their own..... decent people, same as in Gaza - are trying to save them from a terrible fate....

Local services want kids for twelve months in a secure facility - i.e. away from their 'families' - so as to get them on the straight and narrow, and educated. They see education as the solution.
