So, you basically went from enquiring about a rerouted number, to an issue that was sorted out by rebooting the modem. Your whole post, dipstick, reads like a teenager with ADHD writing a letter to the editor.

OK just show your argument that Telstra isn't crap and we can consider it on merit.

We're rural and have had a few episodes of no connection - most fixed by rebooting that modem.  I suspect they are working on the towers.

It's not your fault John. It's telstra's.

That a phone company doesn't have a phone number for it's customers to call? Absofuckinglutely

Exactly. It's telstras fault your customers couldn't call you for several hours because your modem needed rebooting.

Do you call Microsoft every time your computer crashes?

My computer didn't crash moron. And it was telstra who redirected the phone to start with.   Is there a point to your stupidity or are you just trying to reassure your members that you're just  as stupid as you usually are

Read it again John: Do you call Microsoft every time your computer crashes?

How do you know it was telstra who redirected your phone? I am hardly going to rely on your IT skills if you spend two hours on the phone instead of rebooting.

Was your plan to demand telstra send someone out to press the button for you? Or did you just want an IT expert to give you permission to turn your own modem off and back on again?

If microsoft causes my computer to not do what it's supposed to do, damn oaf I'll call microsoft.

What number would you call?

Would you try rebooting first? Or wait till you have spent fruitless hours trying to make contact?

I see the point of fact here that with business… in past, Telstra used to be very attentive compared to private phone use. So to not answer the T business phone for and hour or more is not good…
I find it’s just as well we can use ear phones, Bluetooth, or speakerphone while waiting for an answer to call… at least we are still mobile to move about etc and not stand/sit there in one spot like we used to in olden days when we just had landlines.
Now I suppose it’s all one and the same re: private/business as many people are working from home classed as business now. Especially since Covid lockdown.
I found I need to be with T because I’m in an area with low tower reception (one - two bars).
I had thought during storms with power outages the phones should still work… but no … as I found out… not even the landline! And yet that used to be okay… I don’t know what’s changed about landlines but it’s not the same as it used to be.
So as we had no mobile phone during storm power/outage of about 5 days last year… no land line phone either! Then a friend on our property were talking on mobile phone… I asked who were they with to have reception!! I was blown away. It was Optus! So after this episode I had a 2nd number with an Optus account on an older iPhone…as emergency. Because I lost faith with Telstra at a time we needed it most.

The biggest issue is the third party number they redirected the phone to.  I deal with a lot of confidential information and I need to be careful where that information goes.

My telstra shares are up 52% on what I paid for them in 2018.

The last 3 companies I have worked for have provided me a with a  company phone on a telstra plan, because no other company provides as good a service.

What technology do you have, Carl? FTTH, FTTN. . .?

FTTH since September 2015.

We were lucky... the last street in Rivervale heading north from Orrong Road to get FTTH before everyone else got FTTN.

And we only got it because it had already been contracted to be done under the previous Federal Labor government before the Liberals won the 2013 election and stuffed up the rest of the NBN after that.

Same here - we were lucky and got the FTTH before it changed.

Lucky prick!

I first tried satellite NBN—ran out of data allowance in 2 weeks and it was s l o w  a s  h e l l !

ADSL possible because satellite is the NBN tech (for a whole township, that ain’t right!) slow but unlimited data. Will ring the Telstra ADSL number, see if speed can’t be fixed, bet the connection to the line is corroded.

There's a new satellite system Starlink that Elon Musk has brought out ... they say lightning speeds but it's not cheap.

The whole Telstra national network was plying up last week(mid week?)

Phones ringing no one there.

Dialing numbers that you use regularly coming up with " that number is not connected, please check the number and dial again". etc. etc.

I started off with Telecom/Telstra for phones & internet but changed when they started jacking up prices......

I was with Optus for quite a while until they started to do the same .... & their mobile service had too many blackspots.

I went to iiNet for my first broadband until they started increasing prices with hard luck stories & then not notifying you of plan changes & offering new customers much lower deals.'

There were no considerations for customer loyalty.

I ended up back at Telstra because their mobile service has far more/better coverage.... but surprisingly the signal in my house(less than 3 klm for CBD tower) is woeful.

They too don't give a rats about customer loyalty & have kept jacking the prices.

I'm paying $95 a month for Unlimited Data Essential 50 mbps/17 mbps ..... landline is included in that.

Aussie Broadband are charging $79 for the same.

TPG $75

iiNet $80

Optus $79

Often have to reboot modem & booster with devices disconnecting. Especially the smart TV which has the booster right beside it.

Telstra low $1.92 on 29 June 2018; $3.01 14 May this year.

Makes it a 37% increase.

Past 12 month increase = 11.48%.

Telstra is a reliable service provider. The rates on home, mobile and internet are reasonable.
