Today, I got a phone call on my mobile from someone who rang to tell me that my business phone had somehow been redirected to their mobile number (previous business owner)
. I have two lines for the business, one for phone and one for fax (I know, but some people insist on it).
No idea how it got redirected. My staff had used the phone earlier to call some clients then when my wife went to use it an hour later there was no ring tone. At the time we assumed Telstra was doing some temporary work on the line because our internet had no issues.
Anyway, I try to call telstra to see whats going on but a business CANNOT get a phone number to call Telstra, a TELEPHONE COMPANY for assistance. The only number available is one they deliberately don't answer, all the whilst playing a recorded message asking you to download an app to contact them faster. I've had customers tell me they waited two hours on that line before it hung up on them. I waited an hour on the phone, whilst trying to deal with my customers at the same time, before I hung up. In the end I rebooted my modem and the problem sorted itself out.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service from Telstra and I'll be looking for a new phone company, although as I'm in a smaller town I suspect my options are limited.
