No. You would have to be pretty naive not to be able to read between the lines. Even the most casual viewer would see the strange nature of Stan's message. It is a real jumbled up and peculiar way of saying something. This, which gives rise to the idea that it is a hidden threat.

If I was deranged, I would not have responded in the first place. Stan Grant is an educated man. He has been in journalism (or associated with such) for over 30 years. Mr Grant is not an idiot. He is a professional person and knows how to manipulate an audience.

As such, even for a professional journalist, he shows more tells than he really should, at this level of media publicity. Perhaps you should take more note of this video of Mr Grant's farewell address to see it for what it is. Stan is laying down the law to people who have had disagreements with him. Those in opposition to Stan's position have been given a message to not mess with him. But, he has worded the message in such a way that he cannot be legally held accountable for the implicit nature of his message.

I don't know Stan Grant. I do not know what he is facing in terms of personal abuse. But, I can tell you that the disposition of Mr Grant is such that he is obviously frustrated with something outside of his workplace. In a month's time (perhaps longer) we will get an idea of what MR Grant is going through. Else, we can continue to assume that it is none of our business.

"John", if you were playing poker against me, you would be broke at the end of the night. I do not care what kind of shades you wear to cover the pupil dilation of your eyes. You would end up having such a tell, that I bet we would all take turns relieving your of your betting chips.
