Can garlic really cure COVID? Here's what you need to know

An Australian company has been promoting garlic as a cure for COVID-19. It seems too good to be true.

Australian-grown garlic "demonstrates 99.9 per cent efficacy against viruses that cause COVID-19 and the common flu", it was claimed earlier this week.

But scientists and medical experts have raised concerns about the efficacy of the science behind these claims.

The study has not been published and was commissioned by Australian Garlic Producers, a company that grows garlic and produces and sells a number of garlic health products.

Yet it has been widely shared by anti-vaxxers and COVID-sceptics.

Associate Professor Adam Dunn from the University of Sydney said: "This is a study that is done in vitro, which means it's not done in humans in the real world, it's done in test tubes."

Sorry, Sir Nail... I guess we'll just have to stick with using garlic to ward off vampires and werewolves for now.

Pity it also doesn't work for warding off antivaxxers and conspiracy nutters.

Garlic contains sulfur ring compounds which have an anti-bacterial action.
Since viruses lead to bacterial infections I bet that
garlic does assist people who are sick from Covid.

Garlic will be banned by Big Pharmacies because they can't have 'natural' remedies and such circulating and making everything fine.
They have to say that Garlic is the work of Witch-Doctors, Hippies and irresponsible people.

Artificial and Fabricated Big Pharma remedies at $40 a jar of x100 capsules with minimal percentages (chip packet) is their superior technological 'plastic' alternative.
