It certainly looks that way, but I wouldn't put money on it.

One of the things that makes reading a lot of members stuff pointless, is that they tend to post outcomes they hope for, outcomes that suit their prejudice. The classic was when Greg predicted Hillary Clinton would defeat Trump by a huge margin. There was no indication, other than wishful-thinking.

Putin's boys keep talking about nukes. Hitler did and wanted Paris to burn. But nukes aren't cheap.
'The Manhattan Project involved the labor of some 500,000 people, nearly 1% of the entire US civilian labor force and $2bn. By comparison, the Nazi Uranverein nuke was budgeted US$2 million, one-thousandth of the American expenditure'.

The US used them and Hitler would have. Equality in nuke capability probably makes a difference.

I would.

It's not like Russia is going to pack up and move to the Bahamas after this is over.

They will remain neighbours and, like Stalin's Soviet Union before this, the Russians are going to need an outcome they can live with. Defeat and humiliation cannot happen - that would destabilise the entirety of Central Asia,

And, given even Navalny has little respect for Ukrainian sovereignty, this Ukrainian 'desertion' (as the Russians may imagine it) will remain in the Russian psyche for generations.
