Hardly Sky News rubbish.  Forget your ad homs on the presenter and Andrew Bolt and listen to what Mayo is saying..... Demanding compensation from white Australians, demanding a say in government legislation, talking about punishing any politician who opposes these demands.....  Mayo is one of the key players in the 'voice' and has the ear of the PM... tell us again how we have nothing to lose. I don't give a flying fu
ck
what Mayo is saying.  It is crap.

There can be demands for compensation, calls to punish politicians etc right now and no-one takes any notice of stupidity.

The Voice does not change that.

You may not give a flying bugger what Mayo is saying, but the PM certainly does, and it's Mayo and those with a similar agenda who will make up this voice. So tell us again how we have nothing to lose.  Roll Eyes

It does not matter who is on The Voice, including noisy Mayos.  The Voice has no compulsive power, nada, nothing.

It will sit in a corner of Parliament House and can demand to get hold of your Super....demand payment of rent/reparations.......whatever........and be ignored.

What part of that do you NOT understand?

It is wrong in principle and it's wrong in practice.
Otherwise ok.

What part of the agenda espoused by Mayo and his ilk don't you understand? You really think that this will be a powerless body that will be ignored?  Your naivete is manifest.  Roll Eyes

I 'understand' all the crap 'Mayo and his ilk' have muttered, but it is all off the Planet 'shoot for the Moon' garbage.  Just bullshit, and if you ever took the time to read what Dreyfus said in his speech during the second reading of the Bill, you'd know exactly how impotent The Voice is, and how irrelevant Mayo et al are.

The Voice is NOT the Abos lift to Nirvana, the pot of gold at rainbow's end.  (Even that Blak moron Lydia is well aware of that and for that reason, she opposes it.)

It is just a nod to a request they made to be able to select Reps to go sit in a corner of Parliament House, call themselves The Voice, have wet dreams or dry humps, and send up smoke signals of what they reckon.

All smoke.....and can be ignored by Parliament, Government and the Executive.

Is there any of that you dispute.  If so, explain yourself.

Sounds like they have representatives already doing that for them at state and federal level. "Wet dreams or dry humps" and all...

True, but fixing Burney's four identified areas of concern (at her National Press Club address today) - housing, education, jobs and health - will require government funding.  That's what really terrifies Dutton.

Nothing to do with The Voice.  All that requires attention whether The Voice exists or not.

That 'gap' exists (fact) and there is no reason it ought not be addressed, irrespective of The Voice.

Yet the proponents of the voice are saying the voice will assist in closing the gap, therefore voice has everything to dowith closing the gap. Indeed, the Nats rejected the voice because it doesn't say HOW it will close the gap.

Correct; but because all previous efforts to close the gap have failed, the Yes voters are hoping the voice will magically change things - it won't, because fixing 'housing, education, jobs, and health' requires extra funding from government.

Heck - (apart from education which is compulsory) the government can't even fix those things for all the non-black population.
