While I think many of the anti vaxx mob were/are utter nutters, I firmly believe they should be able to have their say. Apart from in very limited circumstances like genuine national security, I will not have the government or anyone else deciding what information I may have access to.

Been going on here for years in the interests of 'privacy' meaning every arsehole could get away with stuff because you couldn't track him/her down due to government standing in your way.  It's called conspiring to break down the rule of law and order, one brick at a time...

Guess you had to be there when some arsehole hit the back of your car then bolted, you got his number, the cops wouldn't act, and the government told you they couldn't give out name and address of the offender.  You had to hire a lawyer to do that, at prohibitive cost.  In response to saying "I'm representing myself" they laugh and hang up.

What continues to astound me is the blithe manner (not Blythe Danner) by which those who 'supported' the YES idea for a voice, continue to feel that anything that gets their version of reality over the line is a great idea and is perfectly justifiable - EVEN if it means your elected government deliberately over-rides the will of the majority expressed at a popular vote.

The ramifications of this for popular Democracy are unfathomable - but it is clearly the absolute theft of the right of the people overall to make a choice between two weavils (and choose the lesser - that of slowing or re-directing the measures to uplift the Aborigines out of their sink-holes, as opposed to the greater of two weavils, which was the idea of Apartheid, social and economic division, and division and outright smashing of equal rights) - and the replacement of that Absolute Right with some perceived Divine Right of Elected Government to simply over-ride the Will Of The People and do what that government considers to be 'the right thing'... (The Right Stuff-up.. there was a demon who lived out in the thin air of their reasoning....)...

What this means, in reality, is that not only is this elected government intent on establishing its rule over all it sees (in the old and now illegal imperialist manner once shared by Aboriginal families appearing over a skyline and saying - 'looks a nice place - we claim 'im, eh?') and establishing its dictatorship and despotism over the People of this nation.... much in the manner of the Nazis and the Stalinists and all the rest of them.

What is worse out of all this - is that there are people who think this is perfectly acceptable as long as they get their wish list (of nothing real) and feel gratified that this 'government' has ridden over the democratically expressed will of the people to suit their quarter-baked reasoning (educated or not - an idiot remains an idiot - see once proud Sydney Uni).

Such people should be hanging from lamp posts and wondering why as their last breath vanishes into thin air... because they will never learn..... that is how despotic government works, Poppets..... you introduce the demon - somebody tougher takes him up ... you fail to speak for the NO campaigners when they come for them - one day when they come for you there is nobody to speak up.

Told you the conservative Germans thought they could give Hitler power and then control him ..... beware what you choose and what you wish for..... with this style of government we are but one step away from the gulag.
