Questions to hold the Mayo
Jul 23rd, 2023 at 5:43pm

Going to the Rockhampton Leagues Club to listen to a speech by Thomas Mayo. If you have any questions you want me to ask the guy, let me know.

Will the "Voice" be a better long term proposition
the the failed ATSIC government body, and what
benefits will it offer that are superior to ATSIC?
Is the "Voice" simply ATSIC v.2?

Thanks.

How does he intend to punish politicians who do not act on the voice's instructions?

From what he is on record of saying I wouldn't waste my time.

I can assure you he will be singing a different tune trying to convince you & the rest of the audience ...

it's just a "modest" request that is "doing the right thing" and that the govt "doesn't have to listen" if it doesn't want to.

A monumental crock of shyte.

You will get a lecture on how bad whitey is & has been in an exercise of hanging the guilt trip, the victimhood status.

He & his other snake oil salesmen/women were in Hervey Bay recently... not a chance would I attend this snow job of bullshyte.

In 2017, Mayo signed the Uluru Statement from the Heart, and was chosen to carry the canvas of the statement around the country – often turning up to communities with it rolled up in a tube under his arm.

For the past six years, he has worked full-time on the campaign for the Voice, and served as a key advisor to the Albanese government as part of the referendum working group.

Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party

In one such clip, the union official and self-described “militant” pays his respects to “the elders of the Communist Party who I think without a doubt have played a very important role in our activism”.

“Tear Down the Institutions”
At a May Day rally held last month in Port Kembla, Mayo told those gathered, “Every time, comrades, that we have established a voice as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the bastards have taken it away from us.”

Mayo singled out former Australian Prime Minister John Howard as one of those “bastards”, according to The Australian.

In other footage, using classically Marxist language, Mayo states his intention to “change the system and tear down the institutions that harm our people”.

He also said that the power of the Voice would be its ability to “punish politicians that ignore our advice” on legislation and funding.

I am not going to the talk to do much more than listen to what is said and gauge the tone of the audience members and who is attending.

The chances are, I might not be allowed to ask any questions. And if I do get a chance to ask a question, it will likely be one.

Yeah - but he's a Pascorigine ......

Rocky - what's the report on this nonsense?  How much soft soap and baby oil did he use to try to slip you the idea of this voice?  Were you required to bend over to take it, or was it a requirement that you prostrate yourself on the floor first?

With all due respect, your family’s heritage looks pretty much like an ‘immigrant’s’, as mine does. The majority of your father’s ancestors appear to be from Malaysia, the Philippines, Nuie, Vanuatu and Singapore. You also even appear to have German ancestry, just like me.

And, like my own mother, your mother appears to be of solid European heritage with ‘Polish, Jewish and English ancestry’, as you have publicly claimed.
