The initial reports said the person had family connections in Toowoomba (Lehrmann does...his Mother lives there, or did at the relevant time.) Lehrmann also schooled in Toowoomba.

The same reports described the bloke as high profile....well, Lehrmann fits that bill too.

It is the same Goose, Grappler. Deal with that fact.

He has not been committed to stand trial so at this stage he is merely an accused. He was not convicted in the Higgins case so he is not as 'repeat' offender', only repeatedly accused.

His identity remains protected under Queensland law which prohibits the identification of those charged with sexual assault or rape offences until they are committed to stand trial.

The judge put a total lockdown on the media... no cameras anyway. You'd know that Queensland law forbids publishing the alleged perpetrator's name, and that when a judge cuts out any chance of a mistrial because of media exuberance, that is within the bounds.

That was just one failing over the Higgins allegation.

Nothing would stop a photo of him outside the Toowoomba Court House being published.

Headline.....'Seen visiting Family in Toowoomba,' then the photo.

Same page....Headline.......'High profile accused today appears in local Court. Cannot be named for legal reasons.'

The Judge was a nano second too late putting that ban on. It leaked via the Law List a copy of which I have and posted on the first page of this Thread.

You do know about Law Lists and how they are generated, yes, Grappler?

A high-profile man accused of rape may know in days whether he will be able to access months of data from his alleged victim's mobile phone, a court has heard.

The latest in a string of committal mentions took place in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on Wednesday to determine if there was enough evidence to proceed to trial.

The high-profile man, who is on bail and cannot be named for legal reasons, faces two charges of raping a woman in October 2021.
