Rent and Reparations
Aug 18th, 2023 at 3:27pm

The Voice would certainly demand these payments. Just listen to the most vocal YES campaigners, but Albanese is trying to weasel out of it.

Unlike most Aboriginals, I can document my ancestors for many generations in Europe, America, and here. They came to Australia in good faith and they did not kill Aboriginals. I categorically reject any suggestion that I have inherited anything from those who stole from Aboriginals, or killed them, or that I owe indigenous people anything that should be paid out of the public purse that people of many cultures and nations contribute to.

Let the YES voters have their wages garnisheed. Should the Vietnamese and Sudanese Australians be included, or be exempt because they are not white?

I offered a GofundMe page where those who want to donate to rent and reparations for the Aborigines could do so.

I think I'll go ahead with that and see how much comes in....

For those advocating this voice and all it entails.... you are welcome to donate all you like - I flatly refuse to for the same reasons as laid out below, and a lot more.

Many of the "yes" voters will be aboriginal. So, they will just exempt themselves from paying.

Rent and reparations will only prolong the cultural funk Aboriginals are in.

Yes they need extra help, but that help should be only in the form of education which pays off in multiples of what is spent.

Well - Albo sure won't be offering a percentage - a tithe - of his incomes.... unlike you scum - he's EARNED all that!!  You bludgers, stinking mortgage owners and common workers, can just pay and love it.... none of you will feel the pain of $100 lifted from you every week to pay for bludging nationwide.

What absolute moron on this Planet thinks that individuals are ever going to be paid a red cent because of 1788?

What absolute moron on this Planet thinks that a group of individuals are ever going to be paid a red cent because of 1788?

Sure, better funding of programmed seeking to bridge the gap will occur, but there will never ever be reparations.

Lidia Thorpe is kidding herself and anyone who is dumb enough to believe her (seems that includes Grappler and Gordon.)  She et al have a right or entitlement to sweet fu

all and whatever is spent on those programmes will be spent because it is the right thing to do, not because of anything else.

Land councils - who gets the money they are paid?

Royalties divide Yunupingu family
Jennifer Sexton
11jun05

GALARRWUY Yunupingu, the Northern Territory's most powerful black leader, is at the centre of a deep family rift over millions of dollars in mining royalties.

Many of his own clan, in their remote coastal homelands 600km east of Darwin, live in squalid and impoverished conditions while Mr Yunupingu has the use of a helicopter, four houses and a fleet of cars, including a Range Rover.
His fourth son, Sammy Yunupingu, sister Gayili Marika (nee Yunupingu) and cousin Dhanjah Gurruwiwi say that only some members have benefited from Mr Yunupingu's distribution of up to $5million a year in royalties, grants and rents.

Audit reports obtained by The Weekend Australian have, for the past four years, warned that there is no evidence to prove that "clan distributions" have been properly allocated through the Gumatj Association, which receives royalties and other funds and is chaired by Mr Yunupingu.

While the Northern Territory Justice Department, which administers the Gumatj Association, has failed to act, the Howard Government launched an investigation last week.

Traditional Arnhem Land owners say that they are missing out because the money is supposed to be shared.

The price of liberty is eternal vigilance - by calling out these things in advance - and they are clearly stated in the 'Uluru Declaration' - you warn them that it is not on and they do a smith and Aussie and back down like mongrel dingoes on Fraser Island.

"The Dialogues discussed who would be the parties to Treaty, as well as the process, content
and enforcement questions that pursuing Treaty raises. In relation to process, these questions
included whether a Treaty should be negotiated first as a national framework agreement under
which regional and local treaties are made. In relation to content, the Dialogues discussed that
a Treaty could include a proper say in decision-making, the establishment of a truth
commission, reparations, a financial settlement (such as seeking a percentage of GDP), the
resolution of land, water and resources issues, recognition of authority and customary law
, and
guarantees of respect for the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples."

page 105 - scary, isn't it?  First it was Albo's mythical 1..... then it was only 26  ........   now it's 112 .... this starts at page 87... page 87... page 87.... 112 - 86 = 26 .... where are the missing 86... 86 .....86 pages?

WHERE ARE THE MISSING 86 PAGES OF THE ULURU STATEMENT?

The Oils even wrote a song about it.

The time has come to say fair's fair

The time has come, a fact's a fact
It belongs to them, let's give it back
