Time for a fresh thread...

House GOP demands unredacted records of Biden using pseudonym while VP

nypost.com

August 17, 2023

WASHINGTON — House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer asked the National Archives on Wednesday to hand over any unredacted records in which President Biden used a pseudonym during his vice presidency — as Republicans move closer to launching an impeachment inquiry into his role in son Hunter’s foreign business dealings.

Emails previously released by the Archives and retrieved from Hunter’s abandoned laptop reveal that Joe Biden used the email address “Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov” while he was President Barack Obama’s second-in-command and that his aide John Flynn cc’d Hunter on 10 emails containing the elder Biden’s daily schedule between May 18 and June 15, 2016.

Comer’s request covers records using Biden’s other known pseudonyms — “Robin Ware” and “JRB Ware” — and makes pointed requests for certain documents, such as drafts of Biden’s December 2015 speech to Ukraine’s parliament.

Comer Seeks NARA Records Revealing How Then-VP Biden Mixed Official Government Duties with Family’s Influence Peddling

Published: Aug 17, 2023

WASHINGTON—House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) today is calling on the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) to provide then-Vice President Joe Biden’s records regarding his duties as Vice President that overlapped with his son’s activities in Ukraine. Chairman Comer is requesting all unredacted documents and communications in which then-Vice President Joe Biden used a pseudonym; Hunter Biden, Eric Schwerin, or Devon Archer is copied; and all drafts of then-Vice President Biden’s speech delivered to the Ukrainian Rada in December 2015.

“Joe Biden has stated there was ‘an absolute wall’ between his family’s foreign business schemes and his duties as Vice President, but evidence reveals that access was wide open for his family’s influence peddling. We already have evidence of then-Vice President Biden speaking, dining, and having coffee with his son’s foreign business associates. We also know that Hunter Biden and his associates were informed of then-Vice President Biden’s official government duties in countries where they had a financial interest. The National Archives must provide these unredacted records to further our investigation into the Biden family’s corruption,” said Chairman Comer.

In August 2019, then-presidential candidate Joe Biden stated that when he was Vice President there was “an absolute wall between the personal and private, and the government” and “that is why I have never talked with my son or my brother, or anyone else in the distant family about their business interests, period.” Witness testimony reveals then-President Biden spoke on speakerphone with his son’s foreign business associates over 20 times, dined with corrupt foreign oligarchs in Washington, D.C., and met with his son’s Chinese business associate for coffee in Beijing. Emails in NARA’s custody also reveal how Hunter Biden and his associates were copied on official government email.

Below is the full text of the letter.

The Honorable Colleen Shogan

Archivist of the United States

National Archives and Records Administration

700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

Washington, D.C. 20408

Dear Dr. Shogan:

The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating President Biden’s meetings and communications with certain family members and their business associates during his tenure as Vice President. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) has published the Biden Vice Presidential Records Collection, which contains information relevant to the Committee’s work. Many of these records have been redacted for publication pursuant to the Presidential Records Act (PRA) and the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). To further our investigation, it is essential that the Committee review these documents in their original format.

The Committee seeks unrestricted special access under the PRA to Case Number 2023-0022-F, entitled “Email Messages To and/or From Vice President Biden and Hunter Biden related to Burisma and Ukraine,” which has been published on NARA’s website. These records have been redacted for public release pursuant to the PRA and FOIA. For example, an email bearing the subject “Friday Schedule Card,” is withheld in part under a “P6” and “b(6)” restrictions, denoting personal information regarding the subject under the PRA and FOIA respectively.  Attached to this email, and made available on the NARA website, is a document that indicates on 9:00 a.m. on May 27, 2016, Vice President Biden took a call with the president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko. It is concerning to the Committee, however, that this document was sent to “Robert L. Peters”—a pseudonym the Committee has identified as then Vice-President Biden. Additionally, the Committee questions why the then-Vice President’s son, Hunter Biden—and only Hunter Biden—was copied on this email to then-Vice President Biden.

To further our investigation, the Committee needs to review these documents in their original format. The Committee also requests access to certain other documents and information described below. Please provide these documents no later than August 31, 2023 ...

‘My dog is smarter than Hunter’ -  key quotes from secret FBI file

nypost.com

July 20, 2023

Excerpts from the FBI’s confidential informant file on the Bidens, describing conversations between the informant and officials from the Ukrainian gas company Burisma:

In late 2015 or early 2016, the informant met with Vadym Pozharsky, chief financial officer of Burisma, who bragged about having Hunter Biden on the board.

“They hired Hunter Biden to ‘protect us, through his dad, from all kinds of problems.’ “

In 2016, the informant met with Mykola Zlochevsky, head of Burisma, shortly after Joe Biden had made a public statement about Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin being corrupt, and that he should be removed from office. Asked about Shokin’s investigation into Burisma:

“Zlochevsky replied something to the effect of, ‘Don’t worry Hunter will take care of all of those issues through his dad.’ [The informant] did not ask any further questions about what that specifically meant.“

The informant suggested Zlochevsky hire some attorney for $50,000 to ligate the case. Zlockevsky said:

It costs 5 (million) to pay one Biden, and 5 (million) to another Biden.

The informant asked Zlochevsky why he didn’t hire some normal US oil and gas advisers:

“Zlochevsky made some comment that although ‘Hunter Biden was stupid, and his dog was smarter,’ Zlochevsky needed to keep Hunter Biden (on the board) ‘so everything will be okay.’

The Bidens pressured him, Zlochevsky said.

Zlochevsky stated he didn’t want to pay the Bidens and he was ‘pushed to pay’ them. . . . he [said] has many text messages and ‘recordings’ that show that he was coerced to make such payments.

Asked whether Hunter Biden or Joe Biden told Zlochevsky he should retain Hunter Biden; Zlochevsky replied:

They both did.”

Asked if he had any proof that he’d be “pressured” to pay the Bidens:

“Zlochevsky said he had a total of ‘17 recordings’ involving the Bidens; two of the recordings included Joe Biden, and the remaining 15 recordings only included Hunter Biden. [The informant] reiterated that, per Zlochevsky, these recordings evidence Zlochevsky was somehow coerced into paying the Bidens to ensure Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin was fired.

Asked about payments:

“Zlochevsky responded he did not send any funds directly to the ‘Big Guy’ (which [the informant] understood was a reference to Joe Biden)

The informant thought the story of the Burisma officials was credible.

“Given the pervasive necessity to bribe government officials in Ukraine and Russia, [the informant] did not perceive Pozharsky or Zlochevsky’s statements to be unusual, self-serving, or pretextual.

Well, apart from the 91 felony charges and the proof from a federal court and a federal judge that he's a rapist.

Why do you like rapists so much - are you a rapist too?

For all the mounting evidence, Democrats remain adamant that unless bank records emerge that show direct deposits of funds from foreigners into Joe Biden’s bank account no wrongdoing, let alone anything criminal, has occurred.

Influence peddling is unseemly, regardless of whether Hunter Biden ultimately broke the law. Picture: AFP
Influence peddling is unseemly, regardless of whether Hunter Biden ultimately broke the law. Picture: AFP
Regardless, the idea the First Family wasn’t selling their influence for profit, including when Joe Biden was vice-president, now appears absurd, especially given not even Democrats can point to any discernible service Hunter or the broader family were providing to justify such huge payments over many years.

Influence peddling is unseemly, regardless of whether Hunter Biden ultimately broke the law by ignoring a requirement to register under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which a separate US Justice Department investigation into him may yet find. But if the foreign money influenced US foreign policy, such as US support for the war in Ukraine, the Bidens could be at the centre of one of the biggest political scandals ever.

Max Abrahms, a professor of political science at Boston’s Northeastern University who has a special interest in the relationship between foreign policy, bribery and corruption, has been studying the evidence surrounding Joe Biden’s behaviour in 2016 and since for more than a year.

“There isn’t any doubt in my mind that (Shokin) was fired because of Burisma links, and the reason I say that is because the Biden family was being paid millions of dollars from Burisma,” he tells The Australian in an interview, suggesting the Ukrainian government had “kompromat” (damaging information) on the president.

“I’m not saying that Joe wouldn’t support the war, but what I am saying is that I don’t believe that Joe Biden has complete freedom of movement if he wanted to dramatically pull back American support for Ukraine,” he explains, explosively.

To be sure, Joe Biden in 2018 himself bragged that he was practically solely responsible for Shokin’s sacking. “I said, you’re not getting the billion (dollars). I’m leaving here in six hours, if the prosecutor’s not fired, you’re not getting the money,” Biden said at a speech at the Council of Foreign Relations.

Donald Trump’s hunch is looking better by the month. Since Trump’s phone call prompted Nancy Pelosi to launch impeachment proceedings in late 2019, a deluge of articles in US media to discredit Shokin emerged, claiming he was not in fact investigating Burisma at the time of his sacking.

In a new twist, earlier this month a video interview emerged from early 2020 between French journalist Olivier Berruyer and the reclusive Shokin, 71, in which the Ukrainian insists he was pursuing Burisma, pointing out that two weeks before he was removed from office he had seized the assets of the Burisma founder.

“The depiction of these investigations as ‘dormant’ has nothing to do with the reality of the facts,” Shokin says in the video. “I understand very well that the US has one of the best intelligence services in the world and, of course, the investigation into Burisma was closely monitored, not only by legal means, but also illegal.”

...
Abrahms says. “For me, the real scandal, as an American, is just how there’s such a lack of curiosity. It all reflects badly not just on the institution of the vice-president but the American media,” he adds, shocked at the double standards applied to Trump and Biden.

Indeed, the evidence of corruption against the Biden family that has emerged may have only scratched the surface. Best-selling author Peter Schweizer, in his 2022 book Red Handed, laid out some suspicious and brazen business dealing of Hunter Biden during and after his father was vice-president, including with Chinese businesses close to the Communist Party leadership.

Joe Biden maintained private phone lines at his official residence paid for by Hunter and his business associates, while Hunter declined secret service protection on certain overseas trips but not others.

“Joe Biden regularly met with his son’s foreign clients, particularly those from China and Ukraine,” Schweizer writes.

The Burisma revelations have damaged the US reputation abroad. Sali Berisha, a former prime minster of Albania, tells The Australian it was a “crystal clear conflict of interest because Ukraine was a client state of the US government”.  “The son should never have been involved in businesses with Ukraine and government as long as US government was dealing so intensively with Ukraine.”

Trump was relentlessly attacked, baselessly as it turned out, for being a “Russian asset” during his presidency, beholden to Moscow because of alleged videos of him with prostitutes, which ultimately were a fabricated commission of the Clinton 2016 presidential campaign known as the Steele dossier.

It would be ironic if it ended up being Joe Biden who was the one compromised, not by Russia, but Ukraine, to which the US has provided more than $US110bn in aid since February 2022.

“Both the alleged offence, as well as the strength of the evidence, are far more egregious in the case of Biden than for Trump’s phone call,” Abrahms says.

Lol   Grin

Failed former President Donald Trump has been charged in four criminal cases over a four-and-a-half-month span.

In New York, he faces 34 felony counts in connection with hush money payments to a porn star.

In Florida, he faces 40 felony counts for hoarding classified documents and impeding efforts to retrieve them.

In Washington, D.C., he faces four felony counts for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

And in Georgia, he faces 13 felony counts for his election interference in that state.

Donald was found guilty of rape - sexual assault.

He is 4 times indicted with no 5 on the way.

These are all based on the exact type of evidence that just does not exist in any of the Biden accusations. In fact in the biden case that don't even have enough to make accusations. Comey etc have not been able to point out a single law which has been breached based on any evidence.

The reason that they haven't already impeached Joe Biden is that they cannot even find a credible 8 year old who claims that Joe stole his sausage roll let alone if it had sauce or not.

They have had the laptop from hell Sad(well not really) for almost 3 years  they have some files illegally stolen from it that have likely been subject to modification and found nothing except some personal images of Hunters penis.

They have whistleblowers: Who turn out to not be whistleblowers.

Their pretend whistleblowers: Point out that everything they claim happened was while Trump was in charge.

They have whistleblowers: That the authorities are looking for on charges including spying for China and arms dealing.

The Republican hearings: Not only found nothing but in most cases proved the opposite of what they wanted.

Hunter Biden's business associate, Devon Archer was the Republicans star witness: He testified that Joe Biden engaged in small talk about the weather and such. This was their show stopper.

3 plus year and tens of millions of dollars and they have exactly nothing.

Oh, old boy, you are naughty regurgitating the Australian's cut and pastes from Fox. Biden didn't meet regularly with his son's business contacts and Shokin wasn't investigating Burisma - a simple fact check proves this false. There is indeed evidence of your Dear Leader's subservience to Russian foreign policy, including the US election interference that saw him come to power and the invasion of Ukraine which he called "genius". All evidence points to him being a very carefully cultivated Russian asset.

There is no evidence of Hunter Biden influence-peddling in any of the investigations you've mentioned. As your article states, there is no evidence of any crime committed by Joe Biden. The recent House Oversight report made this clear. Even a Mcarthyist Republican committee, with full powers to subpoena bank records, call witnesses and compell them to testify, has found nothing.

https://www.nytimes.com/2023/05/10/us/politics/hunter-biden-house-republicans-re...

There is, however, conclusive evidence of your Dear Leader being a career criminal and corrupt to the bone. Many of your Dear Leader's former employees and cabinet have been saying this for years. Two of his senior employees have been jailed for carrying out his orders and his business has been ruled fraudulent. His former Attorney General Bill Barr, once loyal to the core, wants to see him behind bars. Many of these people will be testifying and adding their testimony in court to the truckload of prima facie evidence that already exists, including audio recordings, video footage and confessions by your Dear Leader himself. Barr says he's toast.

So I'm curious. If you're so into "intelligence and integrity" as you say, then why do you continue to defend a politician caught on tape encouraging state election officials to lie about the results of an election that they'd audited and counted twice?

Why do you continue to defend a politician who, when leaving office, stole thousands of top secret government records, stored them in cardboard boxes in a club that hosted weddings and public events, ignored all government demands to return or even secure them, evaded subpoenas, lied to investigators, lied to his own lawyers and tried to destroy security footage in an attempt to cover it all up?

Why do you continue to defend a politician who told protesters, including those he was informed were armed members of FBI-listed terrorist organisations, to march to the Capitol and go wild? Why do you continue to defend a politician who actively conspired with these organisations in an attempt to terrorize a sitting Congress, Senate and even his own VP,  resulting in an inevitable deadly riot that killed five people?

Why do you defend a politician who conspired to have false electoral delegates sworn in to rig the vote? Who lied in documents submitted in court, lied to the media and lied in official public statements made as president, with the goal of overthrowing a democratically-elected president and undermining, for the first time in US history, the peaceful transfer of power?

If you're so into integrity, old boy, then why do you continue to support all that?

If you'll forgive me, there's no easy answer to this. The most logical conclusion is that you don't have any integrity at all, you're just having a laugh. All that hissing and pouting and preening about Sleepy Joe?

Theatrics. What else could it possibly be? If you can still support the most corrupt American politician ever known, you can't possibly have integrity. Slippery, evasive, tendentious, mendacious - on the tallest stilts ever.

We must consider alternatives to this hypothesis. Could you, for example, have a different form of integrity? One that allows corruption and criminality to achieve noble objectives?

Does your version of integrity excuse Russian collusion, business/tax fraud, information theft, obstruction of justice, terrorist collusion, incitement to riot, insurrection, election interference and various other crimes in return for LOCKING HER UP, BUILDING THE WALL and SENDING THEM BACK?

I'm curious.
