Noticed my Early Burlat cherry burst into leaf overnight! Still bloody winter! It will need protection in later winter–late spring against frosts, including late spring frosts which can kill blossoms and damage any fruit already set.

Promising rain—drizzling right now—so I am using the pick to chop up the front lawn, let the rain wet the soil under the surface and I can plant the three buddleias and sow a heap of flower seeds.
