So the Mabo decision is illegal since it defines its decision by race?

Always good to know for when the REAL government takes over and all that guff is put in its proper place.... BTW - Mabo applies to a small island held by squatter's right by the same family group for ages and the government declined to ask for the usual payment for taking over the land legally ... nothing more - nothing less... it has no place in discussion of any handing over of vast swathes of land where the claimants have scarcely walked for decades and sometimes more. By that standard every bushwalker can claim a national park.

They who choose to live in a remote area and to pursue their own mode of life which does not fit well are responsible for their own lack of employment.... blenty of good keffir have a job.... same rates of pay too!!

He may be right, However they are a people - and not only a people but a people who were here before us. See back to the top line - does it matter ? Marbo ruled that terra nullius was a crock and it is difficult to disagree. The Aboriginal people do not have to be a race being a discrete people is effectively the same thing. Just as there is no Australian American or Chinese race ?
