Since the dawn of Ozpolitic time...

There is the Freediver Culture of Members.
There is the Agness Culture of Members.
There is the Centrist Culture of Members for both.

...then there is the Troll Culture that partakes of neither but themselves as 'Anti' the previous three above.

From what I've seen here thus far, I'd have to say
that Ozpolitic doesn't seem to have any easily defined
culture.  It was obviously set up as a serious site, but
has seemingly been debased by an overload of trolls
and people who have no genuine interest in debating
stuff in any meaningful manner.

A lot of threads have the appearance of a lunchtime
rumpus at some 6th grade primary school.  And of
course the lack of moderation here is chronic, as is
the adherence to the site's rules (such as they are).

Why are there apparently NO moderators prepared to
do their job?

Why are racist, puerile, or infantile threads not locked
when it becomes apparent they were started disingenuously? 

Why is there no evidence of members breaching the
site's rules ever being censured?     Or banned?

Why do certain members appear to have carte blanche
in posting homophobic, transphobic and general
anti-LGBTQI comments?

And will any moderator and/or admin respond to my
questions?     I'm betting not.

   Let's see shall we?

Ozpol culture ... old men congregating to whinge about minorities splattered with the screeching hysterics of Larry's copy and pastes accusing everyone of being everyone else.

I originally joined because I was tired of how much of an echo chamber for the left the Whirlpool forums had become, and how I thought their moderation had become overkill.

Little did I know nobody actually cares about political debate here.  It's all just petty squabbling and any time you reach across the aisle, you just get given a handful of poo, and if you respond in kind all of a sudden the person you're responding to plays the victim.

If anything it's a place for those who've been rejected everywhere else to openly, although for most they think they're anonymously, spreading extremist views, overt racism and anti-semitism.

It's got this place on the radar of the Executive Council Australian Jewry and the forum has made it in their annual reports many times before.

The "culture" here attracts some of the worse types of people in the country who feel safe being absolute cu for the world to see.  They're lucky the site is hosted in Florida otherwise the local authorities could easily take action.

It's a pretty shameful legacy.
