Weight loss?

I think people have to ask themselves before they prepare or eat a meal -

am I really hungry or am I just following a set habit or routine?

I think many meals could be skipped that way or at least
someone might just eat an apple instead of a large meal.
How about smaller portions?
Instead of eating a whole chicken Maryland just cut the drumstick off
and cook that one day and use the rest for a meal the next day.
How about instead of a meal just have a cup of tea and a biscuit?

People seem to believe that we need 3 cooked meals per day.
You might when you're an active teenager but once you hit 50 -
that much food will pile the weight on.

I spent 4 hours drinking 3 mugs of coffee. I might have trouble falling asleep this morning. But, I was amazed at how not hungry I was before I was finished cooking my meal. Getting most of the way through the meal, I had to throw out the remainder. My health might not be good at this point in my life.

However, I was reminded about how nearly 5 years ago I had one solitary day doing practical work at an aged care facility. The lunch was served to the elderly residents. Nearly all of the residents had small meals. Nearly all of the residents did not finish their meals. How much of a contrast I saw with people of youthful age who cannot seem to get enough food in their diet.

I am into week 2 of sobriety. Enforced because of my own mental and physical health problems, I have had a real change of thought processes. Everyone with weight problems seem to have their varying reasons for why they are overweight or obese. But, it takes recognising that you have to control your weight before you can do anything about it.
