If there was a real 'alien' (intelligent comparable to human or more so) experience upon this planet, especially in the last 50,000 years - the effects would ripple around this planet like a shockwave from a Meteor impact of sizeable quantity.
No one nation would be remotely possible to keep it a secret to themselves for whatever gain. For the most part - the 'secrecy' strategy is always a dead give away of a hoax, a lie, etc.
Even the 'awareness' of a universe beyond the orbit of our moon has caused an 'effect' already, with the human trait of 'fear of invasion' being the first 'paranoid' speculation, let alone the 'dark forest' fear coming from a Chinese perspective.
But we know there is no 'real evidence' (which can consolidate
currently - there is no 'life' or 'aliens' out there).
If there was - you can bet that it would impact the whole world in a blink of an eye and not be just 'entertainment' fodder via a Medium of the TV Media and even the Internet.
The vast majority of 'sightings' (photos, films, etc) are PROVEN to be hoaxes or confusions and that fact says in itself that the whole UFO-Alien thing has been a HOAX for so long.
Hell, people are shooting lasers onto clouds to make up fake UFO's, releasing specially designed balloons to make them look like UFO's. Using more and more sophisticated technology to improve the quality of their fakes. Yes, even the Military would do such a thing - afterall, it too joined into hoaxing its people via Operation Blue Book.
Enough said that its all a complete and utter hoax and why they now call them UAPS.
Humans have so far proven they can't even cope with different peoples of its kind - which are too 'alien' from the norm. There's another reason why Humans will never find the ability to connect with a so-called 'intelligent Alien' from another Star system.
What if the 'test' for humanity is to discover that Orca and Dolphins are MORE intelligent than us (although more physically handicapped)?

...maybe the Colonisation of Sahul (Aust) is about the Conquest of 'Time' and not just 40,000 years of it.
