Does Atheism really exist?

No it doesn't.
Well it doesn't even have a Logo picture on this Forum and it pretty much sums up Atheism's illusion.
In fact, Atheism's identity is basically 'dependent' on Religion as an Anti-Religion and nothing more.
Just people in black skivvys, sipping inner-city cafe-latte's, watching the latest 'Media' fad and trend and pretending to be more 'fashionable' than a Spiritualist.

Time this Board is removed and sent to where it really belongs: The Non-Existentialist bin for Anti-Religious people.

Good question Linus and a fair one.

I believe in a lot of things.
I'm not anti-Religious, but I can believe in Science.
I can believe in 'Gods', because they exist in the minds of many - to the point that humanity IS god.
I believe in Creationalism and Evolution like both sides of the brain.
I believe in Gaea (Gaia) which is the embodiment of all life on this planet to which even 'knowledge' can not fully detach itself from (though Judaism tried to convince otherwise without any 'true' success) besides what is being discovered outside the realm of this world out there in the great Void of ever dwindling matter.

...there's a lot more I believe in, but maybe later.

So you might be waiting a bit for your answer Linus.

I wish to add that the works of Joseph Campbell are my favourite reads. He kinda sums up 'everything' better than any so far.

Also, for me - possibly the truest and greatest an experience of 'enlightenment' that any humans have experienced or come to know would be that of the small number of Astronauts and Cosmonauts that have gone above and beyond the concept of 'heaven' and looked back at this world. Each one can tell you that it is a life-changing experience and understanding.
This to me, is the ultimate 'enlightenment' experience so far, that humans can hope to have.
No Religion has been able to produce this effect.

Well, I used to be an atheist but I grew out of it. I am a sympathetic, cultural Christian but philosophically a Spinozist.

Religion is very significant culturally, historically, in art, literature, philosophy, psychology etc and I am not prepared do discount or discard that significance. My conception of religion and God is closest to Spinoza's. That doesn't make me an Einstein but does put me in the same group as Albert.
