The death toll has climbed to more than 700 Israelis and more than 400 Palestinians.

Sheik Ibrahim Dadoun reportedly told the gathering it was a “day of victory”.

Mr Albanese condemned the land, sea, and air assault by Hamas and those who gathered in support of the violence.

“There’s no victory with the slaughter of innocent people,” Mr Albanese told Sunrise.

“The capturing of the people and taking them back to Gaza represents an extraordinary action by Hamas. And Israel, of course, has a right to defend itself, and it will.”

Albo spoke of an "unprovoked attack" (by Hamas), but is forgetting that Gaza is (correctly) aka "the world's largest open-air prison".

You shouldn't be surprised if the hotheads among the oppressed population rise up in revolt....

Only the Green voters would think Gaza is an open air prison.

It's a rocket factory

For decades they were fighting Assault rifles and tanks with rocks while their people were being killed and their land stolen.

This is not just one sided, their is plenty of wrong to go around, at least 70 years worth.

Nothing here to celebrate at all and neither side deserve 100% support.

Pakistan was created in similar circumstances around the same time because muslims weren't getting along with Hindus. How many wars have India and Pakistan fought?

I support anyone who has to deal with Islamic terrorist it doesn't matter if they're Jewish,Hindu, Buddhist ,Christian or atheists.

Tel Aviv was built as a hebrew sector adjacent to Jaffa. It was like a Jewish area in an Arab city. An Australian comparison may be something like Leichhardt an Italian community in an Australian suburb though a lot more messy with many conquests it was the British at that time.
