And still...

Success rates for Indigenous students have consistently been in
the 68 to 72 per cent range since 2008, with non-Indigenous
students in the 83 to 86 per cent range. Similarly, retention rates
for Indigenous students have remained in the 72 to 76 per cent
range since 2008, with non-Indigenous students typically
remaining in the 85 to 88 per cent range.

What's brought this to my attention is there is a year 12 girl at my daughters school about to sit the HSC on a full abo scholarships, not dumb, but towards the lower end of the year. She's been playing the abo card for her entire school career and never gets pulled up on it.

Even before she's sat her HSC, she's bragging that she's basically already in the medicine program at either Sydney or NSW.

When you lower expectations, does effort follow?

B-b-b-being Aboriginal turned 'em all into N-n-n-newts!!  But it can get better.... bit more special treatment and away they go.

So now you know that when your doctor is Aboriginal - he/she knows all his/her stuff!!  Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, don't it?
