Whatever happened to the 6 day war?
This one has already lasted 12 days.

Softening them up with aerial campaign before going in.

Probably also waiting for phone batteries to go flat to disrupt communications.

Urban warfare is toughest plenty of places to hide which differs from hezbollah who have to cross open fields.

As an American General said war is not about dying for your country it's making the other guys die for theirs.

There will be losses on Israeli side when they go in they're trying to minimise that.

It reminds of the war 2006 in Lebanon - that went for 34 days:

Does anyone remember the lebanese ambulance hoax?

Lebanon claimed Israel hit this ambulance with a missile right in the middle of the red cross.

Idiots believed lebanon those with more than half a functioning brain called bullshit.

The ambulance would have been toast if a missile hit it.

Hello Baron

Good to see you online tonight. Such terrible events can make a person wonder if humanity has learned anything from the lessons of history. How do you see all this unfolding/ending?

Hamas has attacked Israel several times since Israel gave Gaza back.

Everyone calls for a ceasefire which only results in Hamas regrouping and rearming for another attack.

If international pressure forces a ceasefire Hamas will regroup and rearm in another year or 2 there will be another war.

Foreign aid to rebuild will be siphoned off for the next war effort.

I don't think Israel will take much notice this time. The jews are the only people who have to justify why they shouldn't be killed.

The propaganda over fake hospital attack shows Hamas are hurting and want this stopped and will tell whatever lies they can to demonise Israel. I should note Hamas rockets have hit hospitals on both sides in this war yet nobody cares when Hamas hit Israeli hospitals.

Israel needs to wipe out Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad it's going to get messy i think they will do it

Then all Israel has to worry about will be Hezbollah in Lebanon and the mad Mullahs in Iran.

Oh? And here I was thinking Hamas' backers were actually very smart and Bibi was a two-faced cheat who couldn't be trusted. Who gave us that idea again?

I forget now. Here we have Culture Wars afficianados like FD, the old boy and Miss Cute & Cheeky sticking up for Uncle and his IDF proxies. We have Bobby playing Chicken Little, preaching the End Times. We have old school Nazis like JC hoping both sides blow each other back to where they came from.

And somewhere in that flappable gaggle of virtue signallers, we have you, changing your mind every six hours.

What more proof of the End Times do you need?

The final battle is at Armageddon.

Oh, I most certainly concur.

Stable, determined, steady at the wheel. Western civilisation started in the middle east and may well perish in it.

Israel must be restrained at all costs. Our own peace relies on it.

Gone in? Why would they go in?

Israel-Hamas war live: Israeli air attacks pound Gaza through the night

Go in and you take on responsibilities. Go in and you need to reconstruct afterwards.

Israel has Gaza encircled on all sides. It's cut off all fuel, water, power and food. Why would Israel want to go in?

Israel likes to shoot fish in a barrel, Bobby. Yeheshua taught them well, no?

You trust aljazeera? Of course you do.

What, a news outlet owned by a Qatari conglomerate that supports dealing with Israel?

Shurely shome mishtake.

Al Jazeera's coverage has been prolific in this war. Its journalists are usually first on the scene.

I trust no one, dear, but I can read and watch.

You?

The Jews have struggled and suffered for their homeland since the beginning of time.

In the Holy Bible (I know that I’m probably the only person on OzPol who isn’t afraid to state that they love and still believe in the good book) God specifically states that’s exactly what the Jews (who God regards as His people) will experience. They will suffer terribly and be taken into captivity and go back and forth wondering the earth longing for their home and throughout it all ... many of them will perish. That’s their fate. Why? Because they vexed God by continually disobeying His laws and disrespecting His ways. That was the reason behind why God had chosen them to be His special people in the 1st place.

Now ... I’m not sure about others but right now I’m glad and relieved that I’m NOT Jewish. Non stop trouble with my neighbours isn’t for me.

And after Hezbollah, Israel will need to deal with Iran.

Then Lebanon, then Syria, Jordan, the house of Saud, Egypt, and on and on. Israel can do none of this on its own, and therein lies the rub.

If Israel doesn't make friends with its enemies quick, this war will go global.

In 1973, the economic response of the gulf states to Israel caused a generational oil shock crisis, recession and stagflation. The terrorist response saw the rise of groups like Black September, a decade of hijackings, the rise of terrorist states like Libya, and on and on.

This crisis could make the Ukraine war look like the good old days.

It would be nice if Israel could just wipe out Hamas, but it can't do so without pushback from the Arab states and Iran.

Before you act all butch, remember. We told you exactly the same thing on Sept 11, 2001. We warned of you of global terror, ISIS and endless wars.

Twenty years later, you were still groaning.

‘I may go,’ Former US President Trump mulls visiting Israel amid war against Hamas

...

Washington DC, USAEdited By: Vikrant SinghUpdated: Oct 19, 2023, 03:46 PM IST

Former US President Donald Trump said Thursday (Oct 19) that he ‘may’ visit Israel to show support amidst its ongoing war against Hamas in the Gaza strip.

His comments came hot on the heels of a trip by President Joe Biden to West Asia, during which the US leader showered unequivocal support on the Jewish nation.

"I may, I may go, I may go, my daughters did (visited). But I believe in letting them do what they have to do. They have to straighten it out. What's happening in Israel is all of those people dead would have never happened, ever, not even a chance. Even the Democrats admit that if I were President. Thank you very much," Trump said while responding to a reporter.

I'm sure they can recharge their phones.
They would most likely use landlines for communication.
They probably have a phone system in the tunnels.

Gordon that is some truly shocking footage

Cutting the genitals off women before raping them

Then burning their babies alive in front of them

Cutting babies out of pregnant women and then burning them in front of their mothers

The level of hatred seems to have gone way over the top

Thankfully I have come up with a solution

Mr Smith disapproves of it which makes me fairly confident it might work

Bottom line 👉  Not Israel. Israeli air strikes leave craters.

Oh and the hospital in question is run by the Anglican Church. Said hospital was NOT hit. The car park was.

Israel, the US government and independent security experts said Wednesday the preliminary evidence for a deadly explosion at a Gaza hospital compound pointed to a local militant group, casting doubt on Palestinian claims that an Israeli air strike was responsible.

Independent analysts poring over publicly available images of Tuesday’s explosion at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza and its aftermath say the blast site doesn’t bear the hallmarks of a strike with a bomb or missile of the types usually used by Israel.

The amount of damage also appears inconsistent with the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry’s assertion that 471 people were killed, experts said.

“We have none of the indicators of an air strike – none,” said Michael Knights of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an expert on military and security issues.

The US has collected “high confidence” signals intelligence indicating that the blast at the hospital in Gaza was caused by the militant group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, US officials said, buttressing Israel’s contention that it wasn’t responsible for the blast.

Washington’s assessment that Israel wasn’t behind the blast at the hospital drew, in part, on communications intercepts and other intelligence gathered by the US, defence officials said.

“Our current assessment, based on analysis of overhead imagery, intercepts and open source information, is that Israel is not responsible for the explosion at the hospital in Gaza,” White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said, adding that the U.S. continues to collect information on the incident.

The Republican and Democratic leaders of the House and Senate intelligence committees said they had been briefed on the intelligence related to the blast, and concluded it wasn’t the result of an Israeli military action.

The small size of the open area where the explosion occurred, coupled with limited shockwave damage, was inconsistent with the death toll claimed by the Palestinian Health Ministry, several open-source intelligence analysts said.

Photos and videos taken at the site of the blast show a very shallow crater in the parking lot outside, and that the hospital compound’s buildings hadn’t sustained major damage.

Yup. No crater.

What does this tell you about Hamas who happily blame someone for their own friendly fire?
