Have you stopped to think of the parallels to the cartoons you post and the propaganda posted over the years to sway opinions and create enemies of people? Particularly at such sensitive times?

Because i am brought very much to mind of that when i see many of the cartoons you post.

Well, I prefer a good pithy political cartoon to wading through masses of quoted quoted quotes. Cartoons have a way of cutting through.  Cool

Since I quit being a "rusted on" voter, I have enjoyed poking fun at all sides of politics.  Smiley

How do you get those Leak cartoons in jpg?

Summary

Israel says troops in Gaza have found the body of hostage Yehudit Weiss, a 65-year-old woman abducted by Hamas on 7 October

Officials say she was recovered from a "structure adjacent to the Shifa hospital", as the military confirm it's continuing "targeted activity" there

The hospital director said hundreds of patients were still at the site; a witness earlier told the BBC "soldiers are everywhere, shooting in all directions"

Israel says its forces found a tunnel shaft and a "booby-trapped vehicle" on the grounds of the hospital

Mobile phone and internet services are down across Gaza because of a lack of fuel, Palestinian telecoms companies say

Telecoms firms Jawwal and Paltel say all energy sources sustaining their generators have run out; Israel has blocked all but one fuel delivery to Gaza since the start of the war

Israel started striking Gaza after Hamas's 7 October attacks, in which 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 hostages were taken

The Hamas-run health ministry says more than
11,500 people have been killed in Gaza since then

Well it looks like these Hamas terrorists will need to surrender instead of hiding behind the sick, the elderly and women and children which they’re USING. THESE are innocent people ie THEIR OWN PEOPLE which are being used as human shields.  This is repugnant, abhorrent and absolutely unacceptable. Hopefully this HAMAS scourge will finally be destroyed and both Palestinian human shields AND Jewish hostages can finally be released.

Nobody is making excuses for Hamas.

They have committed horrendous war crimes and everyone here has condemned them unconditionally, several times.

However, the IDF is also committing horrendous war crimes/genocide, and they need to be condemned as well.

For some reason though, conservatives refuse to do it.

Civilian casualties are a brutal fact in any war.

When the PLO launched attacks on Israel from Lebanon in the late '70s - early 80s, then retreated behind the civilian population, Israel hesitated to go into Lebanon out of concern for the toll street-fighting would incur.

Arafat and the PLO saw this as Israeli weakness and fear of the PLO's army. They then hailed their attacks on Israel as a victory. They focussed on inflicting more attacks on Israel, assuming Israel would not fight in the streets of Lebanese towns, which motivated the PLO to increase its attacks with the backing of the Soviet Union.

When Israel finally invaded southern Lebanon, much of the world's governments flapped their collective arms in mock outrage, (including Margaret Thatcher - the so-called 'Iron Lady'), demanding that Israel withdraw from southern Lebanon.

This time Israel is not hesitating with Hamas in Gaza -  the devotees of Blue Oyster and Softcockery can howl - it doesn't matter.

No more hesitation this time. Israel is going to finish the job.

I have a feeling the final journey for any Hamas members will be
to unmarked mass graves in the Sinai or Negev desert.

Well Bobby ... it’s like this:

I’m just a mere housewife of Sydney so what would I know? And it really doesn’t matter what I think. Not in the great scheme of things.

Moving on .... when I studied History (at Sydney Uni) we came across the interesting topic of Game Theory - and the important role of gaming in strategically planning modern warfare operations. I was mesmerised by the mathematics behind it and of course the brutality wrt the projected outcomes under different conditions (mapped out using matrices). These projected outcomes determined how many people would die (civilian/non civilian).

The matrix which was adopted was the one with the least no of deaths all up (which was a relief).

Still ... I came away after lectures quite concerned/upset/distressed even because whoever was ultimately in control of the mission (not in terms of deployment but in terms of concept/strategy) knew they were in the awkward and awful position of playing God. THEY were carefully analysing probable (not possible) casualty figures and they selected (in consultation with others of course) the action plan based on which figures were “acceptable” for that scenario.

I must admit it was a difficult time for me ... trying to grasp how people could use logic, mathematics and reason for the purposes of destroying other human beings.

BUT THIS IS WHAT MEN DO!

THIS IS HOW MEN THINK!

And they’ve been at it like this since time immemorial.

IF women were in charge ... we would definitely be having a completely different discussion.

that  question shows your fundamental ignorance

the correct question is how many more need to be MARTYRED.

that is up to their parents and hamas

they could walk out of the war zone any time they like

they stay because they want paradise for their children.

you really are slow in the uptake
