But what makes you feel so confident,
given the history and conflicts in Palestine that Israel
will seed control of Gaza strip after 6 months?

Well - with 6 months - Israel should be able to:
kill all the Hamas terrorists,
destroy the tunnel network,
remove any weapons.

No, they wont take the risk.  They will level it, and closed it off for buffer zone.

Not.
'over 60 percent supported Hamas maintaining a ceasefire with Israel, and 50 percent said Hamas should stop calling for Israel’s destruction and support a two-state solution instead.'

Nothing will change -
Egypt won't even allow a tent city for the Pallys until this is over.

Analysis: New wave of antisemitism threatens to rock an already unstable world

Analysis from CNN's Stephen Collinson

History is flashing warnings to the world.

Outbursts of antisemitism have often been harbingers of societies in deep trouble and omens that extremism and violence are imminent.

So the wave of global hatred directed against Jews — intensified by Israel’s indiscriminate response in Gaza to horrific Hamas terrorist murders of Israeli civilians on October 7 — should not just be seen as a reaction to the Middle East yet again slumping into war.

It is also a reflection of destructive forces tearing at American and western European societies, where stability and democracy are already under pressure.

The Hamas attacks — a pogrom against Jews that killed 1,400, mostly civilians — have initiated a sequence of events that have left Jewish people around the world feeling threatened. And now that the Israeli government has sought retribution through airstrikes and operations in Gaza targeting Hamas, the scenes of carnage in Palestinian communities threaten to further drain public sympathy for Israel abroad and, in some cases, contribute to an atmosphere that risks worsening harassment of Jewish people.

In the United States there is a climate of growing fear.

Jewish day schools have canceled classes. Synagogues have been locked.
Social media has pulsated with hatred against Jews, leaving a community that can never escape its historic trauma yet again wondering where and when it can ever be safe.

Read Collinson's full analysis.

It was not intensified by Israel's response. It was intensified by Hamas' initial success at slaughtering Jews. It made Muslims the world over come out to celebrate in the streets.

Egypt doesn't want the Palestinians:

allar snackbar

Egypt and Israel have already agreed on securing the Sinai Desert, dear.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egypt%E2%80%93Israel_peace_treaty

Of course Egypt doesn't want two and a half million people added to its population.

Gazans have a home in Gaza. All those buildings currently being bombed have people called owners and tenants. Their occupants are people known as citizens - of Israel.

People are also known as humans - with human rights under the UNDHR. Israel is a signatory to this declaration. It is illegal under international treaty law to exile or extricate citizens from its national borders.

Allah Uakbar, no?

Sorry - Halle-lujah (G_d is great).

Not by Israel. Or Gazans I expect. It's a bit hypocritical to insist they are citizens of Israel then complain about Israel "occupying" their land.

Is it? No worries. We'll do this one as a multiple choice, shall we?

Gaza is listed as a territory of which nation state?

a) Israel

b) Egypt

c) Palestine

d) Islam

Answer correctly and the old boy will give you a banana.

You can make up whatever list you want Karnal. It doesn't change the reality.

Oh, I see. So the only agreed border Israel has - with Egypt - doesn't count.

Cunning. All that is solid melts into air, no?

Yes, Master..

Were you unaware of a border between Israel and the Gaza strip?

I was. Israel erected it.

You?

So if there is a recognised border, and neither the Israelis nor the Gazans see the residents of Gaza as citizens of Israel, why do idiots keep insisting that they are? Is it yet another trick to make non-Muslims responsible for the actions of Muslims?

Hard to say, FD. Are you saying Gazans are not citizens of Israel?

I'm sorry, dear, you'll really need to back that one up. It'll help clear up all those fake Israeli passports in circulation, not to mention the problems they're having in the occupied territories with voter turnout.

Do you have a link to that?

I say you are confused, as ever. There are plenty of Arab/Muslim/Palestinian citizens of Israel. They live in Israel. Not in the Gaza strip.

I have been hearing this idiocy from various anti semitic groups for about 20 years now - that Israel is responsible for the residents of the Gaza strip and the west bank because they are citizens of Israel. Was it always just confusion over the fact that there are plenty of local Muslims living in Israel as citizens who enjoy more rights and freedoms than Muslims in any other middle eastern country?

Summary

Israel says there were "large exchanges" with Hamas in Gaza overnight as its ground offensive continues
The IDF says its forces were attacked by "terrorists" with anti-tank missiles and machine gun fire

Air strikes on the Gaza Strip also continued overnight - Israel says more than 300 targets were hit in total
Israel says it's focusing on northern Gaza but continues to strike "all parts of the Strip"\

Hamas says it ambushed three Israeli vehicles with anti-tank missiles and attacked ground troops with shells in southern Gaza

On Monday night, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls for a ceasefire in Gaza, saying "this is a time for war"

Israel has been bombing Gaza since the 7 October Hamas attacks that killed 1,400 people and saw at least 239 people kidnapped as hostages

The Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza says more than 8,000 people have been killed since Israel's retaliatory bombing began
