Vanderbilt to end ‘inherently exclusionary’ honors program

In his research, [sociology professor, Andrew] Cognard-Black… reported many college honours programmes do not have “proportional representation” of minority students, especially blacks and Hispanics, compared to the demographics of their student bodies.

Mebbe black and Hispanic do not value education in the same proportion as other demographics. Why IS that?

And to alleviate that difference of valuing " problematic academic rigour", exceptional students will now be obliged to mingle with those less academically inclined, and offered an education “accessible to all,” one “open to the voices of divergent experiences.”

Can't have hierarchies of excellence. It's 'exclusionary'.

We're in a new house but she's also such a mature young lady now. Has very little interest in frivolous crap like many her age.

I'd like her to go to ANU for a year then maybe transfer to Sydney and then throw a year overseas exchange into the mix, that or start at Sydney because she haa some incredible job offers she can take advantage of if she stays local, then an overseas exchange.

Doctors pay medical indemnity insurance lawyers collect the payouts.

If she doesn't want to represent criminals she could work for the prosecution.

Her real interest is in economics, and she just about got a perfect score in that subject. According her she's doing the double degree to ensure employability, has zero interest in criminal law.

The good thing is, it's not just a choice but her passion and first choice. Earlier in the year Sydney Uni sent out a test paper to any school that wanted to participate, called it EconomicsOlympiad, she got a high distinction and won a place to attend the monthly RBA governors speech and a lunch at a fancy hotel.

Well ... Sydney hates Jews and is ruled by the feminists ..... ANU hates everyone who isn't Black, Pallie or a running dog ... ..... Melb is a sisified group of foreign job circle-jerkers who know everything in the traditional fashion of the unknowing....

All are pretty much marked for soon-to-be restructuring...

It's a hard call...... my daughter holds the record for knocking back NIDA - and boy preferred to be a chef.

Do not commute to uni from home. Childhood must be left behind.
Exchange overseas is essential.
Group of 8 unis have good overseas partners but other unis have good ones too. Best in disipline is important.
There is no real point in changing Australian universities half way through unless something unknown at the start becomes known.

I have a son at ANU doing mathematics. He likes it although it is as pc as the rest.

Law is the new/old Arts degree. It's the last of the rigorous - up to a point - humanities degrees. It is also one of the original degrees universities were set up for in the middle ages. It is a crowded field.

My university is run by a racist heterophobe ultraliberal with an alleged agenda to turn a reasonable regional campus into some kind of front for criminal organisation. The moment he mentioned that he was disappointed by the 61 to 39 result for the Voice, I knew it was the end of humanity in the university here.

The very first week when I went and did the orientation, I was subjected to the aboriginal supremacist bullshit. If I had known then what I know now, I would not have wasted 18 months of my time and just gotten a job elsewhere. Maybe the curiosity of what was going on had gotten the better of me.
