Hamas targeted civilians, not the IDF and committed atrocities on them to ensure Israel would reel in uncontrollable rage against them, thereby ensuring and maximising retaliation.

Hamas wanted total war. They got one.

Name a war where civilians don't die in numbers usually greater than soldiers.

The IDF have lost about 35 since they went into Gaza. It's clear Hamas have killed more Israeli civilians than IDF.

Yes, point taken.

Hamas did not engage the IDF. They invaded Israel to kill as many unarmed civilians to maximise their kill rate before they were taken out.

Turns out they were likely more successful than they'd calculated.
