I watched the late 1990s WWF/WWE and some WCW shows every week on pay tv. By the time I moved out of home, I was losing any interest in the shows. Hulk Hogan was in WCW at the time. And the whole WCW show consisted on the mid-carders doing the wrestling, whilst the big names were more about talking. That was the reason why WCW lost its audience and was acquired by a rampaging WWE.

In any event, I cannot imagine any wrestler being a candidate for the new James Bond. Roger Moore and Sean Connery were both in the navy, and had military experience. That gave their character some credibility in the movies. Any steroid using wrestler would stick out like a sore thumb.

I watched "True Lies" last night. The idea that Schwarzenegger could play the role of a spy is laughable.

It doesn't need credibility -

all the Bond movies were beyond belief - like cartoons.  Smiley

You want to cast a wrestler with severe steroid use as a spy for a Bond movie. As far-fetched as some of those action scenes in Bond movies are, they are not something a hulking wrestler would be suited to doing.

Remembering Sean Connery as a Bodybuilder and Athlete

Thomas Sean Connery’s breakthrough as an actor came in 1962 when he was cast in the role of James Bond, Agent 007 of the British Secret Intelligence Service, a fictional character adapted for the screen from Ian Fleming’s spy novels. Connery portrayed Bond in seven films, all of which were immensely successful. The worldwide popularity of James Bond movies elevated Connery, a Scotsman, to an iconic status as the Scotsman.

Notice any scene in Dr No, where Connery is bulky and muscular?

If you know anything about secret agents, they tend to be people with a lot of physical stamina. Not only do they have to physically recover from some ordeal out in the field, they have to be capable of refocusing on the task at hand. If they are not capable of running a half-marathon inside 90 minutes, they are not capable of being out in the field.

Most tend to be the people you would least suspect of such things....
