Australia's Ranking—$6 trillion Wellness Industry

In the $6 trillion global wellness "industry", Australia
ranks sixth for spend per person. While the World
Health organisation has 73 million followers, Kim
Kardashian has 364 million.

The challenges faced with the wellness industry is
that we live in a world today where the three biggest
health influencers in the world, are not medical
doctors and have no formal degrees.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Joe Rogan, Kim Kardashian each
influence hundreds and hundreds of millions people
globally. One could combine all the doctors in the
world, and they still wouldn’t have the reach of those
three non-medically qualified people.

One of Paltrow's products, in particular, is called "Psychic
Vampire Energy Spray Repellent". It's designed to ward
off bad energy and emotional harm… it has rose water,
sea salt, rosemary and "gem" elixirs (what they are who
knows?) and you spray it around you "aura"… it costs $37
and comes in a "sonically tuned" bottle.

Question is, who comes up with this stuff and tests
it under the guise of wellness?

They're exploiting and monetising the human instinct for the metaphysical via its predisposition towards simplistic solutions to complex human problems.

Rogan shouldn't even be mentioned in the same breath as Paltrow who pushes some dangerous stuff.

Apart from Rogan pushing his nootropics which IMHO are probably useless, they're also probably harmless. Rogan's position on health for everything else is spot on, eat the correct amount of calories and exercise regularly. He doesn't expect people to be go to his extremes, just don't over eat and don't be a slob. Nothing controversial there.

He also regularly rips into garbage like homeopath and chiropractors and other hocus pocus.

Rogan's nootropics may be harmless (let's say), but they're not costless or profitless... and his spruiking is not without wild claims and non-expert hyperbole.

He can justify his spruiking, or do it without legal consequence because he can run to the safety of not claiming to be an expert, or even fully informed - a common goto when spruikers are caught out.

The upshot of this means he's no more qualified to rip into homeopathy and chiropractic therapy, than he is to spruik his nootropic drinks.
