Extreme First Hydrogen Deep Dive
Dec 2nd, 2023 at 8:38pm

Dr Simon Mitchell shows us the first official Rebreather Hydrogen Deep (Technical) Dive in New Zealand.
Trimix to 245m and Hydrogen to about 200m.

Looks promising and how, under pressure, us Humans can breath different gases.

Interesting stuff. Bit of a 'bang' at the end too.

Hi JaSin,
that sounds dangerous -
mixing Hydrogen with Oxygen under pressure and breathing it in.

Internal combustion engines explode such mixtures using compression.
Diesel engines don't even require a spark.
There is a chance that someones lungs would explode.
I know it's only 4% oxygen and they say that's safe - but still
- under high pressure at 250 meters deep?
Oxygen and Hydrogen want to combine to form water -
they can breathe it in - not me.   Undecided

Don't be surprised if Humans need to breath these types of Gas mixtures to walk upon other planetoids and deal with their pressures and temperatures.

Humanity will never be able to exist out there among other worlds, until it can live 'under water'. Pretty simple.

Have you ever been 'narked' with excessive Nitrogen?
More nitrogen than in the air you breath on the surface?

Mixed Gases are normal as they compensate in the environment that you are not normally in.

No -
I went to a dive shop when I was about 15 years old.
I wanted an air bottle and a regulator but they wouldn't sell me one.
They said I needed to pass a recognised diving course to buy one.
I only wanted to go to a maximum of 3 meters depth to get shellfish.

I already had a good mask and flippers.
I was quite a good freediver!

Being 'Narked' is the Rapture of the Deep.
The majority of biomass of all the planet live in that Zone.
Well, it used to. Probably all fished out by now.

The Dive Shop was probably afraid you would be like Monk.
They give you a metre, but you take a mile.  Cheesy

Not if you can't prove you're 'trained' by a Provider and have the Cards to prove it, as well as being of young age, you have a second person or more who is also 'certified' to accompany you.
No Shop or business would like to sell your soul to the devil and the deep blue sea. Bad enough Adults and 'certified' ones at that, can die in the Underworld.

Yes and in fact there were laws about using aqualungs to dive for shellfish -
it's not legal everywhere either.  Embarrassed
