pretty different oratorical styles

hitler employed a lot of protacted silence, building volume, studied hand/facial gestures in his speeches

trump otoh is effeminate, improvises, talks more like  a casual standup comedian, interacts directly with the audience which hitler never ever did

the fuhrer was a distant entity that stood above and beyond the reach of the people, while trump is an entertainer

they're not similar at all

Hi Denton,
Hitler always sounded angry in his speeches:

only the speeches or snippets of speeches you have seen or are played in documentaries, which present him as a cartoon character. he would often build up to those vociferous sections with hushed tones punctuated with periods of silence. he was a very soft spoken and articulate man in private.

Yet in his speeches he seemed like a crazy madman who
wanted to kill everyone who disagreed with him.

and yet people loved him all the same, he was arguably bigger than jesus christ. maybe people love crazy madmen who want to kill everyone who disagrees with them? it could be a winning political formula.

Well - it's going to be interesting when Trump tries
to expel 20 million illegal immigrants from the USA -
a bit like Hitler trying to expel millions of Jews -
it didn't work - no one would take them -
and he ended up gassing them to death.

The medium is the message, JC. The big fella's just playing to a different form of media - cable TV and Twitter.

Exactly the same political ideologies, and you know.

no, trump is a clown and a buffoon who stumbled into the presidency (probably unintentionally) like mr magoo. trump is a tabloid and cable tv persona posturing before a literally dying audience of selfish boomer suckholes, while the fuhrer will be remembered, revered and feared as long as the stars burn in the night sky.

trump believes in nothing, so there's no way you can ideologically compare him to another person

What do you think is revered in Hitler?

Invading Russia was a stupendous blunder, especially after the lesson of Napoleon. urdering Jews, homs, Gypsies, commies on an industrial scale and efficiency was evil.

Yes, Germany was badly treated after WWI, mostly on the insistence of France. Yes, the communists were an internal threat to Germany. But National Socialism was a self-devastating answer to whatever aimed Germany.

Despite him being an evil monster:

He didn't rape anyone.

He didn't steal money from kids' cancer charities.

His ex-wife didn't "accidentally" fall down the stairs, die, and then end up buried in one of his third-rate golf courses.

His best friend wasn't a convicted child sex offender.
