So, SCOTUS has declined to urgently hear the motion Smith proposed about Trump's pervasive arguments on presidential immunity.

Which means they will ultimately rule against Trump   Smiley

If they were going to rule in his favour, they would have done it  now by granting Smith his motion.

That is logical, but SCOTUS likely found, following precedent, that a need for expedition had not been made out.

Do they really want to push the case into the election window? I would think that the threat of Trump sitting in court the same day that the people were voting would be rather significant grounds to get it done.

So a Texas court should similarly rule Biden ineligible, on the grounds that he's violated federal immigration law by allowing 8 million illegals to enter the county.

Even if True it isn't a constitutional breach that would bar him from office.

It certainly is a constitutional breach.

Article 4 Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states: The United States shall guarantee to protect every State against invasion;

This was to guarantee that each state of the union was protected against invasion by foreign nations, revolutionary forces, drug cartels and uncontrolled (illegal) immigration.  If we cannot control our borders we cannot defend our national sovereignty…..it's that simple.

The Guarantee Clause

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.

The clause says no such thing about immigration - that is just silly.

There is no penalty under this that would bar anyone from holding office.

If you can't see how what's happening there is not an invasion you are severely deluded.

Unfortunately it looks like the supreme court will delay till after Trump is locked in on the ballots. It isn't resolved about what happens if they find Trump an insurrectionist between then and the election.

One scenario would be that Trump stands as the Republican representative in the election but cannot take up the position of president if he were to win the election.

Brian, that's terrible. They have no right to do this sort of Deep State nonsense.

Mr Trump was our 45th prez. Who elected them?

Mr Trump should bus a whole heap of illegals up to Maine - see how they like that. Better yet, pick out all the retarded spastic ones and send them up to the Maine Secretary of State's house - without their colostomy bags!

When Mr Trump gets in, he can defund Maine, lock them up, make them pay him, whatever he wants. That's the law - all rules, laws and orders, including those in the constitution, can be terminated. That's fair. Is Mr Trump going to be a dictator?

Hell yeah! On day one, he's going to build the wall, lock them up, send them back and drill, baby, drill.

It'll be the busiest day he's worked in years, you'll see.

The decision makes Maine the second US state to disqualify the former president from office based on the 14th Amendment’s ‘insurrectionist ban’.

Nonsense. You think Mr Trump doesn't have an ace up his sleeve to use when the leftards play these kinds of tricks? We're talking four dimensional chess here, Greggery.

Mr Trump has the Supreme Court of America. All he has to do is tell them how to vote. As prez, that's his right. It's called executive privilege.

The Supteme Court has to do what Mr Trump says, that's the law. This Secretary of State woman is toast. The Supreme Court will give her life in jail for this, you'll see - if the base doesn't get to her first.

We'll have to wait and see what happens.

Trump proves that Politics in the USA is not for the American People as a whole.
But only for the 'people' in Politics.

I won't be surprised, that's for sure.

At this stage he will be the GOP candidate - nobody else has a chance (despite aquascoot claiming that Meatball Ron will beat the rapist).

And also, at this stage, he has a real chance of winning the general election - if I had to put money on it today I'd put everything on the rapist Donald Trump.

So, how will I react if my prediction comes true?  I guess I'll say "I told you so".
