Not for me.

I'd love to have a go on one of those latest superbikes on a race track during an open day.
I'd do maybe 4 or 5 laps fairly slowly first to test the bike out then go a bit faster.
I bet the Ducati would handle the best?
A friend of mine says I could be a bit tall for a Ducati at 6' 1" - last time I measured 20 years ago.
He's 6'3" and he found a Ducati was uncomfortable for him.
A lot of those GP riders are small blokes - like jockeys.

Me with my H2 750 Kawasaki 2 stroke back in the early 90s.

OK - so what is this Yamaha M1 that keeps winning the GPs?

https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au/products/motorcycle/road/supersport/yzf-r1m

$39,349.00

197 bhp.   200kg

And with the YZF-R1M you can be sure that you are in possession of the most advanced Yamaha production track bike of all time. Take a look at the aerodynamic M1-inspired carbon bodywork and it's clear that this race-focused motorcycle is constructed like no other machine.

With its state-of-the-art Öhlins Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) – including NPX anti-cavitator gas front forks – as well as Brake Control (BC) system and 3-mode Engine Brake Management (EBM) system, the YZF-R1M is ready to push the boundaries.

I wouldn't have the guts -
the fastest I've been on a bike was on a race track and that was 200 km/hr -
that was enough for me -
I can't imagine 400 km/hr on an H2R   Shocked

I've done about 260.

I'd have a go on the H2R, but I'd want some coaching and a full sized runway, and it would probably take a lot of practice to get there.

Tell ya what Bob's, if I win the 90m lotto tonight I'll buy a pair of them and rent us a runway  Grin

Hi Gordon,
260 km/hr.  wow - that's when we were young and foolhardy - LOL

Thanks but I'd prefer to take a Ducati Panigale V4 R  for 20 laps
around Philip Island race track and then try a Yamaha YZF-R1M for another 20 laps.
I never rode a bike with top handling i.e
that could handle bumps in corners  etc.

I have a friend who claims to have ridden all the equivalents of the bikes in my reply #2
and he's also ridden many top Ducatis and even on a race track where it was
hired out for the day by a club -
how much fun would that be?

You'd be into that wouldn't you?

I reckon the real world differences between any of the top line Superbikes would be lost on the likes of us.

260 was in my younger days on a Fireblade at Eastern Creek.
