Another attack on Bluey
Jan 4th, 2024 at 8:27am

This time by a Muslim claiming an episode(Cricket) was promoting "Arab" genocide.
Roll Eyes

If he stoops to this ridiculous level how on earth was did he ever win a literary award?

Quote:
WRITER AIMS PEN AT BLUEY
An award-winning Muslim writer has accused Australia’s iconic children’s TV program, Bluey, of promoting “genocide” against Arabic people.

In a new poem shared to Instagram, titled Bluey In The Genocide, novelist Omar Sakr referred to Cricket, an episode in the show’s third season that centres around the family of dogs playing the sport.

The episode, praised for its messages of good sportsmanship and family values, happens to be the series’ most popular, according to an ABC poll of 50,000 Bluey fans.

Cricket centres on Bluey’s red kelpie friend, Rusty, whose father is serving in the army. At one point, the episode shows Rusty’s dad writing a letter to his family from the war zone.

According to Mr Sakr (inset), “sportsmanship” wasn’t the only takeaway for viewers.
“We watch the cricket episode, All laconic drawls and summer Games, a dedicated pup learning To play while his father is away,” his poem reads.

“His name is Rusty, he’s a star At bat. My son laps it up, as do I Until the end.

“The scene shifts And there is the distant dad In combat fatigues, and I learn Even in this cartoon world There is a desert full of dogs, Soldiers and guns, and somewhere Out of frame, Arabs being put down.”

The ABC declined to comment on Mr Sakr’s criticisms.

This is the Bluey image that offended Muslim Omar Sakr.  (His notation.)

     ...

His claim that it's promoting “genocide” against Arabic
people is truly ludicrous, and is yet another indicator of
why Muslims are so ready to go to war at the slightest—
even non-existent—provocation.

Sakr was born to immigrant Turkish-Lebanese parents in
Western Sydney, where he still lives.  He suffers from bisexuality.

And this is the sort of non-poetic rubbish he writes...

Every Time I Visit

My grandmother retells the night
and the morning of her son my father
dying. He read the Quran and cried.
He left the couch for bed. Turning
in place, like her, he rarely slept.
He was alive at midnight, alive
at one, and two, and three.
For an hour she stopped checking
her boy, yoked rest. She woke
and looked again. He was always
moving her pride her joy
from this country to his birth
country—as much man as zephyr
nothing ever pinned him down—yet now
he cupped his own cheek, he held himself still.

Bluey should do an episode that depicts mohammed married to a 7 year old, or maybe a good old koran burn.
