Summary

Donald Trump has won a landslide victory in the Iowa caucuses, cementing his status as the clear frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination
But Florida Governor Ron DeSantis edges out former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley to take a distant second place, the BBC's US partner CBS projects
Trump hails his victory in a speech to supporters, saying he wants to "straighten up the problems of the world"
Iowa is the first of the state-by-state contests where Republican voters pick their White House candidate
Haley had hoped to ride polling momentum to come second, but DeSantis's relentless campaigning in the state paid off
Meanwhile biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy drops out of the race and endorses Trump - he had caused a stir in early debates but failed to gain traction
Whoever wins the Republican nomination will face a Democrat, almost certainly Joe Biden, in the November presidential election.

Twitter banned Trump about 3 years too late for his abuse of their system.

Trump was lucky to have been impeached twice - he should have been impeached 5 times.

The Trump insurrectionists are in prison where they deserve to be - Trump should be joining them.

Yes Trump is an authoritarian. along with a dozen other things.

The Republicans are screwed whilst Trump remains in the picture.  No one else will get a look in and the American public will never vote for Trump as president again

To think that anyone else could possibly be the GOP candidate for the 2024 general election is just ludicrous.

As long as Trump is (unfortunately) alive, and as long as he wants it, the nomination is his.

Haley, DeSantis, and all the other attention whores don't have a snowball's chance in hell.

But never forget: every time Trump the rapist faces the American people, he loses the popular vote.

Every single time.  He has a 100% failure record.

Whilst it is undeniable that his MAGA cult members like him, the average (sane) American does not.

Who else is going to:
secure the border?
deport all those Mexicans -over 20 million of them?
stop the wars in Ukraine and Gaza?
bring back prosperity to the USA and the world?

It won't be sleepy Joe Biden.   Roll Eyes

wow  trump the $2.10 favourite . biden at $2,80

https://www.sportsbet.com.au/betting/politics/us-politics/us-presidential-electi...

how did the dems screw this up?

when trump performed disastrously in the midterms and lost the senate he was at 20-1.

but after hounding him thru the courts and using the judiciary and fbi to come after him, he is now favourite Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

how f"ing incompetant are the dems to allow that to happen?

were they taking advice from gweggy and fisk and persecuting the big guy to the point where real americans saw trump as being unfairly targetted?

how could they have messed this up

they must accept the result of their extreme stupidity  Cry Cry
