That's the flaw in your argument. If men were "reasonable" they wouldn't resort to war to resolve differences of opinion. The UN was created by men who wanted to "save mankind from the scourge of war", yet here we are...

So to answer your question (in a maner you might recognize) : yes, it's reasonable - given men aren't reasonable.......

People who can't distinguish between etymology and entomology bug me in ways I cannot put into words.

Ethnic cleaning of Jews by Arabs in Arab countries, in reaction to a land grab by Jews in Mandate Palestine, is understandable (eg due to instincts re possession of territory) - if not justified. "Reasonable" is moot, as I already explained.
