Further to the above.
The Irish Government doesn’t GRANT citizenship to those born outside Ireland whose grandparent or parent was born in Ireland, it RECOGNISES such citizenship as an inherent right.

Kathleen Amelda Hill .... (not related to Imelda Marcos, thanks) I wonder... grandmother... my grandfather's mother was born in Ireland....  a Landrigan... County Tipperary ... though the name is more allied with Scotland... hhmmm and hmmmmer ....

It'll all sort out....
