For years we have been saying that teenagers accused of serious crime, esp those aged over 15 should be tried as adults. Adult crime - adult time. And now an academic has come out and said the same - and speaking out about this will bring the woke left loonies out in force to discredit him. But teenage crime is not child crime. It's serious and people are being killed.

Terry Goldsworthy, an academic from Bond University and former detective, believes young people should be prosecuted for offences like murder to the same extent as adults.

“I think an offence like this, they should be held accountable as an adult would be,” he said.

Dr Goldsworthy said a there was a “lack of public confidence” in Queensland’s youth justice system.

“I don’t think it is working,” he said.

Dr Goldsworthy pointed to data showing more than 50 per cent of youth offenders were released on bail, with seven per cent of those going on to commit offences resulting in serious injury or death.

“We continue to have these people released into the community when clearly they’re not safe.”

As Terry Goldsworthy says - look at the size of these "children" - they tower over the police and their victims.

An 11-year-old who stabs a 70-year-old woman to death will face a lighter sentence than someone 15 years of age. But, the difference might be about 5 to 10 years.

BTW I agree with Goldsworthy; but I disagree with your refusal to consider welfare dependency/homelessness/family dysfunction as a factor in crime. (Apparently homlessness in Qld is the worst in Oz, and that's saying something......).

I didn't want to delete the orginal post - just the duplicate.

And I have considered all those points you make. I understand it's extremely difficult for people from other cultures to assimilate. But we're not a melting pot - no matter how much the social engineers try to make that so.

At the end of the day it's down to personal responsibility. Things might not be going your way - you might not have everything you want in life - but you don't have to violently murder a 70 year old grandmother to steal her car in front of a six year old child.

Stabbing the person was the easiest way to gain possession of the keys

So now, what we will have to do is carry a set of false keys, hand them over and depart the scene very quickly, perhaps throw them some distance on the ground to maintain distance, and it will take 10 seconds for them to grab the false keys, get in the car, and try to make the key work in the ignition switch ... giving a victim time to clear out

Import large waves of any peoples from downtrodden places and it will turn out that some are crims. You think the poms weren't committing crimes when all the poms were coming? Do you think the razor gangs of the 1930's were aboriginal? You moved onto the Greeks and suddenly there was an influx of Greek crims, then Italians, Russians, Arabs, Vietnamese, Chinese, and so on. The only thing that changes is the nationality and the skin colour.
