We had the option of not dissolving the White Australia Policy and having to do our trade with only a few nations in the world. Even those few trading nations might get 'pressured' into not trading with us anymore, if worldwide opinion was that Australia was being racially discriminatory.
Vyleen White paid the ultimate price for our policies.
I would say that Vyleen White would be less safe if our international trade was downgraded because of our discriminatory migration policies. Poorer Australians, including Vyleen White, would be turning to more desperate standards of making money in the abscence of not being able to trade with many international markets.
Strange rhetorical play on events and safety there ... You needed to take an extra minute to think before you typed
We have non-discriminatory immigration, and international trade ... yet Vyleen White was still accosted and murdered
She was murdered by someone who is alleged to be a refugee from somewhere in Africa. Had he and his family not been here, Vyleen would still be alive. True enough. But, if a blanket ban of black Africans was enforced, even if it resulted in a 10% drop in crime, would that really be that great to have instead of an international trade that had not sanctions placed upon us?
south korea, japan and china would have taken a grand total of zero sudanese in the last 20 years.
everyone seems happy to trade with them
i'm not against multiculturalism
