The daughter of a grandmother who was fatally stabbed at a shopping centre has delivered a scathing review of the state government’s promises to tackle Queensland’s youth crime crisis.

Vyleen White, 70, died after she was allegedly stabbed in front of her granddaughter in the underground carpark of an Ipswich shopping centre on February 3.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with her murder.

Her death is the latest in a series of violent crimes allegedly committed by teenagers across Queensland and has given rise to renewed pledges from politicians and police that they will crackdown on the youth crime crisis.

Rockhampton's population has not been in the 50,000s since the 1980s. It was about 70,000 by the time I graduated high school. Then we had the growth from the mining booms. Around 2010, the population was around 90,000. But then the mining boom was over and we saw people moving out. I trust the figures because an extra 7,000 people on the roads here was enough to congest the roads much of the mornings and afternoons/evenings, instead of the usual 8am to 9:30am and 4pm to 6pm traffic congestion we have today.

Sudanese should be prospering in their own country, but the US stooge, the IMF (Instant Misery Fund) is in charge of international money flows.

Sudan is at 156 on the IMF's list of GDP per capita. South Sudan sits at 189. For all the good that their mining industries do for South Sudan, the country is heavily reliant on agricultural exports. That said, the South Sudanese would have to take advantage of their oil exports to prosper.

In terms of "neoliberal 'free market'", any refugee would be not thinking in terms of international trade of goods. They would be thinking in terms of where can I sleep tonight and have something to eat. Those that hop on a plane and head to the outskirts of Europe or Australasia, and then take a boat to the prosperous first world countries are nothing but country shoppers.

Those "refugees" that do get asylum in places like Europe and Australasia and then go about committing violent crimes, they are not showing gratitude for being brought to safety. May people would say that they were part of the cause of their former homelands failing.

Are you ignoring my post which explained why many turn to crime (like wild dogs) in periods of social/community breakdown?

In Sudan or South Sudan, you bugger around, you will be shot. In Australia, if you murder during a car theft, the worst that would happen to you initially would be an arrest. Whether you survive prison would be another matter. But, I bet 20 years in prison in Australia would be better than 20 years of freedom in Sudan.

The criminals in Australia have it so good, there is no need to steal cars or kill anyone. The fact of the matter is that the criminal gang that murdered Vyleen White would have been doing this as an initiation towards a criminal enterprise.

Children that commit petty theft at stores or get drunk/stoned in their early teens or pick fights regularly with the public, are not going to have their records made public. But the attitude of these little runs are enough to get a roll on with falling in with drug dealers and such to become teen criminals. The video footage of African youth running rampant through Melbourne and causing fear among the locals is enough to suggest that a crime wave is happening.

Ah, the stupid gweggy 'argument'.

The rate of offending by blacks- Sudanese or aborigine - is off the scale compared to whites, Japanese, Sikhs.

The only decent black demographic is the god-fearing, church-going black population that stays together as a family, work, lol after the kiddies and each other and do everything they can to maintain and nurture human dignity. And they are wonderful.

The rest, the ghetto fodder, gangsta culture nigglers have cultivated rubbish and consequenly turned rubbish.
