2024 Dunkley by-election 2nd March
Feb 23rd, 2024 at 10:07pm

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Dunkley_by-election

A by-election to elect the next member of the Australian House of Representatives in the electorate of Dunkley will be held on 2 March 2024, following the death of sitting member Peta Murphy in December 2023.[1][2][3]

It will be the third federal by-election to have taken place since the first sitting of the 47th Parliament, as well as being the first by-election in a Labor seat since 2020 and the first federal by-election triggered by a member's death since 2015.

Anthony Albanese's smile could disappear ‘very quickly’ if he loses Dunkley

Feb 23, 2024

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s smile could disappear “very quickly” if Labor loses the Dunkley by-election, according to Sky News host Steve Price.

Mr Price noted that the pressure after the tax cut backflip has started to show as the Prime Minister “bristles” at any awkward, aggressive questions he gets on a range of issues.

“Maybe I am reading too much into this, but he appears to be a man under great pressure,” he said.

“Confidence is crucial to life in the public eye; the No vote, I think, rocked Mr Albanese because he convinced himself the referendum, the Yes vote, could not be lost.

“Then he was jammed by colleagues to break a promise written in blood around tax.

“Getting engaged to his partner, I guess, allowed him to smile for a couple of days, but that smile will disappear very quickly if, as unlikely as it might be, he loses Dunkley.”

Dunkley is currently a safe Labor seat at 6.3%.  Even allowing
for a bit of a swing, I can't see them losing it.

I reckon post-voice and then the voice by stealth - they'll only hold the safe seats - so we can enjoy another Labor shibboleth - mostly women to make them 'equal' ... over and over and over again until you never see a man in politics or any other easy job... people are starting to call out for some of the dopier sheilas to be booted out of the way for real people....

Jesus - Plebeian Sex today said 'the wage gap has finally narrowed'  - FFS - I wrote back that she was using the wrong paradigm and women are being paid more per hour worked on average than men are.

You all DO understand what 'hour worked' means, don't you?  It means when you actually do the work.... you know - if you work fewer hours in the same job etc you will EARN less... no 'gap' involved.... and if you are paid 7-10% more to make up your earnings PLUS special extra pay for leave etc - there is no justification for it, if everyone is Entitled™ to a fair go and the same treatment.

No wonder Labor is struggling and only gets a gig because the current Opposition is so dreadful in its performance.

Labor should hold Dunkley. The previous member was popular and died under tragic circumstances.

There might be a minor shift to the Coalition but if Labor loses this seat then they are in serious trouble at the next election.

A 3 February Newspoll reported Anthony Albanese’s net
approval dropped one point to -9, while Peter Dutton’s net
approval was down four points to -13. Albanese led Dutton
as better PM by an unchanged 46–35.

I want to see Albo lose this one.

He doesn't care about Australians at all.

If Australia went to War.
Albanese would cower like a gay/trans weener.
Voldermort Dutton would stand tough.

Increased shortages of housing, more increases in rent, high interest rates ... are fixed by importing hundreds of thousands of immigrants and refugees

That's when you know the Libs and Labs have come to the end of their road - rigor mortis from now on, a sign says

Did you see Albosqueaky get mad at Dutton over the boat arrivals? Squeaky said something like "watch yourself" in an angry aggressive tone ... looked like he was gunna get a gun and mass shoot Dutton and a few other Liberals

Be hard to do anyway, the whole lot of them are already dead - it'd be like a skeleton shooting at other skeletons
