Did anyone notice that mass, uncontrolled immigration
did not form part of the election agenda?

Labor will retain the federal seat of Dunkley in Melbourne’s bayside south-east.

Jodie Belyea will be the next member for Dunkley.

The Greens were the big losers.

Labor had a better result than they expected.

Libs would be happy if this swing was repeated at the General Election because it would mean Albo would be out after only one term.

Something for everyone in this result.  Smiley

p.s.

Sorry for the image, reducing it down made it go a bit fuzzy.

The 2025 election could be a shocker.

Everyone is a loser, the Libs and Labs are past their use-by date and rigor mortis is setting in

What we need urgently is brand new parties with headings "We the People" ... and do away with the ancient dictatorial mob rule of "We the ALP and the Coalition"

Let's put Australia into administration till we get a few things sorted out ... let the people have the final say on immigration ... let the people decide about foreign donations to political parties - things like that, there'd be a few

The non-partisan Administration heads could do nationwide surveys, at the same time keep all Departments running smoothly, no one would be left behind, everyone would still get their payments

You forget to mention how to deal with lack of housing forcing people to live in tents, and poverty-level payments for the most disadvanatged, in lieu of above poverty jobs.

Our preferential voting system is unfair -

it keeps the 2 main parties in power forever.

It's become a club - in fact a one party state with 2 branches.

Everything would be covered in the nationwide surveys, they could go on for a short number of years till a true picture emerged about freedom, rights, stemming criminal behavior, who should get social benefits and who shouldn't, etc, etc, etc

There are too many topics off the political agenda -
all decided and agreed upon behind closed doors - in secret -
by both major parties.
We never get to vote on it.

Agreed, I would vote to reduce immigration markedly (to levels consistent with shared prosperity).

But I would also vote for Oz to demand restorative action (for all nations) by the World Bank and IMF ...another story which we don't get a vote on.

This is why we need to get governments to fear us, rather than us fearing governments

It needs to be "We the People" .. not .. "We the mob-rule Libs and Labs"

The Libs and Labs have worked things so that if you don't vote for them, your vote can either lose 100% of it's value, or it gets counted as a preference vote that will go to a Lib or a Lab anyway - It's a scam

Take a seat with three candidates, a Lib, a Lab, and some other. If you vote for the "some other" and they don't win, what do you think happens to your vote?

It's a scam alright.
Can we ring authorities and alert them to the Scammers?

my guess is they will take immigration back to the average it was prior to covid or a bit less but still way too high regardless. and that's if they even mean it, they could pull the ol switcheroo with the temp visa / permanent visa annual intake, switch the numbers around a bit so the overall intake is the same but the total people being approved onto the permanents is less per year.

albo made similar promises
