Was a bit unnerving reading this stuff over my morning coffee today...

          Shocked

I'm thinking Trump has actually lost the plotfor real.  His arrogant
vindictiveness is like that of a petulant little kid denied batting, so he
takes his bat and ball and goes home in a huff.    His total lack of
political awareness has really come to the fore with these puerile
media grabs, and has undoubtedly lost him even more of the support
he so desperately needs in November.

Trump...

Promised to "root out" what he called "radical left thugs that live like
vermin within the confines of our country that lie and steal and cheat
on elections
."

Suggested twice in two months that he'd be a "dictator for one day".

Will "wield that power very aggressively."

Will "shatter the deep state".

Says "the deep state must and will be brought to heel."

Will pass critical reforms making "every executive branch employee
fire-able by the president of the United States
."

Proposes to overhaul federal departments, relocate up to 100,000 jobs
from "the Washington Swamp" to "places filled with patriots", and fire
"all of the corrupt actors in our National Security and Intelligence apparatus."

Will "stop the invasion of our country and send Joe Biden's illegal
aliens back home
."

Accused migrants of "poisoning the blood of our country."

Will use "all necessary state, local, federal and military resources to
carry out the largest domestic deportation operation in American history
."

Said "If this election isn't won, I'm not sure that you'll ever have
another election in this country
."

Excerpted from ABC News Australia, 21 March 2024.

If I were an American voter, under a "normal" political climate in that country, I'd
have no leanings either Democratic or Republican per se politically, as I'm a
centrist prepared to lean a bit either way depending on the governing party's
platform and performance over time.

Trump presents a clear and present danger to the entire American people;
their economy, their freedoms, their safety, their health and education, and
their status in global rankings as a powerful influence on the rest of the
world's stability.

—To be honest, I find it hard to believe that this arrogant, ignorant
buffoon was ever made the 45th president.  Was the electorate
asleep at the wheel in 2016?

Fully agree Geoff....It's all down hill from here!!!

Huh Huh Huh

I think people forget how hard it is for a USA "President" to achieve all their goals in a 4 year term. Biden can't even get Ukraine dollars through. There's 2 houses for a reason and a whole armada of politicised admin and justice dept hoops acting as "co-morbid" factors. Any shift back from the far left would actually probably take all the things he rattles home about (that people keep disregarding, half the USA population along with apparently the majority on this site and I'd hazard similar numbers around the globe are actually demanding). It has got to the point where even apparently reasonably intelligent protagonists on sites like this, have no actual clue regarding the major narrative, presented by media as the vast majority, which is in fact completely untrue. Trump won't get half the poo he wants done , actually done. It does however require that level of aim to achieve the eventual half. It fits exactly with the see-saw narrative; the further left the see-saw goes, the more extreme right required to counter balance. There needs to be a counter balance effort now before it is too extreme and all hell does actually break lose in efforts to rebalance. I would add that vast numbers, perhaps even the majority of the world populace seem to agree the world needs a rebalance. That is a reality not even well educated professionals or media seem to be able to actually grasp. PS: I've got to get this enter key fixed Undecided

Mr Trump wants the balance restored to the Vlads, MBSs and Kim Jong Uns, Goose. That's maybe a majority of Russians, Saudis and North Koreans, it's hard to say.

They don't get to vote.

The majority of Americans elected Oba-ma, Hil and Sleepy Joe Biden. A majority of around 12 people in Florida voted for George W Bush, RINO. Come next election, a majority will vote for Sleepy Joe Biden again, it's how they roll.

A majority of people want a nice, safe, interconnected world with free trade and movement, good schools and good job opportunities. That's what the majority of people want. I say we give it to them.

You?

Not so mate.  There's no empirical evidence supporting
this claim.

Trump is a spent force, and his chances of ever sitting in
the Oval Office have been shattered.

I'm guessing by this time next year, he'll be in the slammer.

There's need to guess, Geoff. 93% of federal charges result in convictions. The great William Barr, former Attorney General, has seen the evidence and said it's a slam dunk. We're talking serious jail time for one indictment alone.

In the state of Georgia, it's around 80% on RICO indictments. There's also New York and another federal case to go. The judge who's hearing the Washington case has already sentenced the minions to years in jail. She wants to try the guy who told them to do it.

In August, she should get that chance. If not August, then sure, after he loses the election.

This is why the US is sinking to lower than banana republics.
This lawyers persecution of the opposition is going to backfire spectacularly.
Or if it succeeds, it will discredit the US for ever.

US credibility was ****ed in in 2020, the dems are just cementing it.
There is NO credible US electoral outcome. Nobody trusts whatever the result.

This is entirely the doing of the Dems. They drove the country to a civil war 150 years ago and they are driving it to another schism again. And Biden is the very face for what they are doing - totally discredited, pathetic, yet vicious and destructive.
The front for the Kenyan/Chicago/Dems mafia.

The most common response around the world now from even "western" citizens and probably the majority of country leadership; when asked if they think the USA is still the example of society we all should aspire to mimic is: bugger NO. That wasn't the case even just a couple of decades ago. It has lost it's role as a beacon to the world and even the educated "elites" have failed to grasp the true ramifications of that around the globe. From Africa ditching the "West" to driving Russia and China closer, to BRICS, to India disregarding Russian oil embargoes and actually helping Russia, to the too radically "Left" aligned EU policies and Brexit, which every "enlightened" expert thought impossible and predicted wouldn't happen etc, etc, etc. We're going through a period of poor leadership/advice mixed with an insane level of Dunning/Kruger sufferers in the roles. The possible reasons for that is a whole other discussion but history has these periods. It's vital to find more central balance and initially it will require a more than perfect equally too far push to the right, to counter what has tilted too far left. Leaving it longer will only guarantee a breaking point.

Of the utmost importance is the USA somehow regaining it's lost judicial impartiality and reverence for the world and somehow managing to regain education system impartiality. Those two things have to happen for the USA to regain it's status as a beacon and re-find a more balanced position. To achieve that is going to be extraordinarily difficult from how far it has tilted. History suggests it may be too late.

That's right, Goose. So how do you feel about the big fella being subject to the same rules as everybody else?

Or is that an area you feel should swing more closely towards the centre?

Cheers.

I see. Is that why he's planning to gut the federal workforce, under schedule F?

He only plans to be dictator for a day, Goose. After he's replaced the civil service, arrested his political enemies, deported the illegals and overturned the constitution, he plans to be a nice normal Dear Leader again.

I see what you mean about restoring the political balance. Mr Trump plans to restore it to the centre of North Korea, no?
