Donald Trump posts $269m bond in New York civil fraud case to avert asset seizures

Donald Trump has posted a $US175 million ($269 million) bond in his New York civil fraud case, averting asset seizures by state authorities which could have hobbled the former US president's business empire.

The Republican, who is set to face Democratic President Joe Biden in the November US election, was found liable on February 16 for fraudulently inflating his net worth by billions of dollars to secure better loan and insurance terms.

Somebody is rather confused.

Defendant Trump posted the $91.6 million bond for E. Jean Carroll's defamation/rape verdict a month ago.

This new payment is for the civil case in which the rapist was found to have fraudulently inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to secure better loan and insurance terms.

It's true that the rapist is facing so many civil and criminal convictions that it's easy for some people to be confused, but do try to keep up.
