It's not possible that as it bombs and starves Gaza, Israel is motivating groups of men to enlist in Hamas. Israel wouldn't do that.

In the 5th century B.C.E. there was a rabble-rousing Athenian politician named Hyperbolus. Since Hyperbolus is known to history as a demagogue, i.e. “a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain power,” one might be tempted to assume that his name played a role in the development of the modern English word hyperbole, but that's not the case. Hamas did not kill 1200 plus. Israeli pilots killed many in the instances where the deaths were caused by fire from tanks and missiles from drones and aircraft.

Israeli Jews murdered other Israeli Jews and did not show any concern. In fact, some parents of Jews murdered by other Jews praised the Jews who murdered their sons.

Judaism is a death cult.

I always think... what would Gaza be like today if Hamas called off the 7 October 2023 attack on 6 October 2023?

The kidnapping, rape, murder etc all happened.

There are videos on YouTube of Gaza before the 7 October 2023 attack. Fully stocked supermarkets, cafes open, bakeries all running, clothing stores (even designer stores) operating.

Gaza wasn't occupied like the West Bank.

In fact, thousands of Gaza residents would cross into Israel everyday for lucrative jobs which paid a lot more than jobs in Gaza. Yes, there wasn't free movement between Gaza and Israel, but what nation (outside the European Union) just lets people cross its border without approval?

There is also legitimate criticism of Benjamin Netanyahu that he helped prop up Hamas to keep the Palestinians divided. It was mostly a hands off policy when it came to Gaza. So much so that Israel didn't even have the security forces close by to push back the Hamas invasion immediately.

So why did Hamas attack? Why did they change what was a relatively comfortable existence for the people of Gaza?
