Apparently a short baseball bat/club is very good.
Use small sharp cracks in a karate style, not the big 'chopping a tree down' style action.

Aim for many small hits while controlling your balance, distance and focus.

Possession of a shortened baseball bat or a club is illegal as they are classed as weapons.
Oven cleaner in the kitchen is legal, in the bedroom it is illegal.
However a pressure fire extinguisher is legal in any room of the house, the shed, the car, even on a motor bike.
It is not intended for self defence in those locations.
Men’s pressurised body sprays as well as insect repellants may be carried at all times as they are not weapons whereas pepper sprays are.

The good old walking stick or the brolly may also be carried .
With all things the important criteria is that they be not carried for self defence.

Your Governments abhor the concept of self defence.

But the Prime Minister and other Politicians have guards armed with pistols and better.

What about a kids baseball bat that one of my kids left there years ago?
Hold hands out in front loosely with a 150 mm gap between them.
Step forward in a small rapid step, pull with the lower hand, push with the upper hand. Aim for his hand.
Reverse the hand movement to bring the bat back. Think entirely of speed, getting in and out.
When you connect, do not think or hesitate, repeat what you did. Same small snappy action.

I did karate a long time ago

You’re the one who’d have.to prove the bat was left there and be asked why you kept it.
A good answer would be “. . . for sentimental reasons.
I prefer the walking stick as I did fencing years ago [mainly because of the girls who were also learning]
The brolly is not to be spurned either, the multiple steel ribs will stop a machete cut
and the foot, if it has one, will lethally penetrate the body.
Folded of course.

Kingsman...... not afraid of a little umbrella, are you?

A bit more on umbrellas; Guards Officers in mufti used to be required to carry a correctly folded umbrella, these always had the spike as it served well in lieu of a bayonet.
The Officer was thus always armed.

I'm pretty sure you are allowed to have a baseball bat in your car for the purpose of playing baseball. Or a tyre iron or steering wheel clamp. Or a knife in your tackle box if you are going fishing. You would have to really piss the cop off for them to even go looking for it.

As a certain fellow in Bondi Junction proved, you can use a Bollard to defend yourself.  Another fellow in Sydney used a chair to defend himself, and another fellow used a milk crate.  You can basically use anything as a defensive weapon if you have a mind to.  You don't need walking sticks or umbrellas or knives or even a gun.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Yeah - but a reliable Valkenschtick is very handy... don't be snarky - it suits you too well these days... I'm nearing 75 and sick as a dog still - ain't got no time to go searching for some bugger
in
g milk crate or load of bollards... what do you think this is?  Oh, look - every pensioner, woman, baby and passing man should have twelve months training, be crate licenced, and carry a milk crate at all times...

I plan to carry a legal shortened shotgun.... that might be easier.... a .38 or a 9mm ....

WHAT a load of bollards.....  Ancient Orientar Art of Bollard Fighting - HAI!!   Waaaanjooooooo Makirimanska!

I am very alive and well, Soren.  I use my brains rather than my hindbrain, like you, to think about matters.  I don't react, I act.  Tsk, tsk, tsk...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Grin

Must be all very taxing for you, all that 'bbrain work' -  hence all your yawning.

Go back to sleep, dozy cockwomble.

Shocked
Bbwian has the right to defend his yawning and being an all-round fat-headed, puffed-up puffin.

What's your daily dose of yawns, puffin and Maggie memes, fat-head?

Cheesy

Just because you post the same jejune puffing meme 324 times doesn't mean you HAVE social or verbal skill, contemptible knob.

It just means you are a stupid, vain old idiot with minimal-to-zero insight into your own inadequacies-  mental, verbal, interpersonal, educational.

Anyway - this morning there was an article about 'what happened to all the men at Bondi Junction'  etc...  'where are all the good men'?

I responded that when you de-bollock a society as a prelude to dominating it and punish men for doing what they would normally do, calling it 'toxic masculinity' and so forth - it is inevitable the men will just stand back and let things happen.

Add to that the war against men over the past forty years and more, and you have your answer.

Bring Back Toxic Masculinity!!!  I'm proud of mine..... I'll fight for family and friends and strangers and will oppose arseholes at every turn... get with the program.

Sideline:- defend your nation and way of life.... amazing that the wimpish kind like Marles have taken so long to state what I've been saying for years now.... we no longer enjoy lead times to train people up - and the corollary is that we do not have time or money or energy to cater to social science whims and push for 'inclusion' of masses of relatively useless in combat women, poofs, and trannies.

They're talking about a shortfall of thousands of troops CAPABLE of all and full duties as required.

Get With the Program!!

Now - Nu zulland!  In this age of near instantaneous attack from the air etc - how friggin' long do you want to play 'isolationist/safe in the south seas' under your friggin' wimp sheila governments?

Downe at Ye Olde Omaha beache:-

"Where's all the special medications for the transgender troops?"

"Somewhere at the bottom of the channel or scattered all to hell and gone with the Airborne."

"Guess they're plumb out of luck then...."

Don’t you feel a bit wierd walking around with a milk crate?

I’ll stick to the walking stick, I just turned 90 years old.
